Oh god, the Ring was terrible - especially when the original was such a great movie. Well, I've never seen the original Battle Royale, but I might if they're doing a remake.
God, what is with all these crappy remakes? Why aren't we declaring a war on THEM? =P

I am, I completely refuse to watch most remakes, I will never watch thundebirds, the ring, battle royal (when it comes out) and I will never ever even under pain of horrible torture and death, watch the sacrilege that is The Italian Job remake.
EDIT: or Alfie for that matter, seriously, its like someone has a vendetta against Michael Caine.

The biggest question is will they follow the story set out by the first Battle Royale movie or will they stay closer to the novel in the remake.

I would hope for the novel...but I think we're going to be VERY lucky if the remake is the least bit similar to the original.
