Thread: Phobias!? O_O

well.... there are pretty known and common phobias like:

Achluophobia: Fear of darkness. (which i suffer from )

Acrophobia: Fear of heights.

Insectophobia: Fear of insects. (eeeeeeeeeh! which i also suffer from >_< ) im also afraid of sharks!!! but i dont know if they have a name for it?!

Batrachophobia: Fear of amphibians, such as frogs, newts, salamanders, etc... (which my mother suffers from) i remember once i chased her with a frog in my hand.... she ran like the wind!!!... hahaha XD that was kinda funny....(sorry momyyy i was about 7 back then)..... i also remember that i was grounded for a week..... T_T not funny.

anyway i heard of some WEIRD phobias!!! hmmm... i kinda doubt they exists!

Fear of chicken.

Fear of writing.

Fear of English.

Fear of clowns.

Fear of bald people. (hahaha thats funny XD) ...... thats all i can remember right now.

so do these weird phobias exist? have you heard of any other weird phobias?

Whats so strange about being scared of clowns? Everyone knows clowns are evil.

I have the following:
Agyrophobia- Fear of streets or crossing the street.
Aichmophobia- Fear of needles or pointed objects.
Amnesiphobia- Fear of amnesia.
Arsonphobia- Fear of fire.
Asthenophobia- Fear of fainting or weakness.
Athazagoraphobia- Fear of being forgotton or ignored or forgetting.
Automatonophobia- Fear of ventriloquist's dummies, animatronic creatures, wax statues - anything that falsly represents a sentient being
Autophobia- Fear of being alone or of oneself.
Batophobia- Fear of heights or being close to high buildings.
Dystychiphobia- Fear of accidents
Glossophobia- Fear of speaking in public or of trying to speak ( I really have this one, I get sick at my somach and my face turns completely red. When meeting someone new I usually don't speak much during the first few meeting...or when I'm just trying to ask someone I don't known the time I choke up and can't ask.)
Paraskavedekatriaphobia- Fear of Friday the 13th
Pediophobia- Fear of dolls.
Pharmacophobia- Fear of drugs (I can barely bring myself to take medicing.)Taphephobia (Taphophobia)- Fear of being buried alive or of cemeteries.


Well, I have a lot more than those, but I can't list them all. All those phobias and the ones you've listed really do exist and come about sometimes by unusual circumstances. Like you could have a fear of chickens if when you were smaller a chicken chased you around and pecked you. Like me, I don't go around wild animals anymore because one time I was stupid enough to try and help an injured owl. I hate owls now....

Don't know much about phobias but I got two. I'm a homophobic and I'm scared of the sea, however you put that.

I'm afraid of anything with more than four legs, except bumblebees, but especially flies. I'm afraid of light. I'm afraid that the world is going to kill itself. I'm afraid of thunder and lightning. I'm afraid of needles and fire.

Actually, I'm afraid of a lot of stuff. It's all perfectly reasonable too, yet for some reason not TOO many people are afraid of these things...

Hey, some of them are pretty common. Except for that Friday the 13th one...I think that's just me being superstitious.

....you're afraid that the world is going to kill itself? I'm afraid that we're going to kill the world. That and that the sun is going to burn out...it doesn't matter that it won't happen in my life time....it just scares me for some reason...the thought that life won't go on someday.

I meant that the people of the world are going to destroy it, along with ourselves in the process. All those things like the environment...

OH MY GOD!!! 98!! those clown pics are....*gulp* soooo SCARYYY! i had to turn on the lights after seeing em..... now I have a clown phobia!!!
