Scanlating 101

I want to learn how to scanlate so that, provided I can find somone willing to translate for me, I can read unlicensed manga that nobody has bothered to scanlate, without looking at text scripts. Can anyone point me to a site where I can learn how? P.S. For my first project I want to try "Shadow Skill"

starting a new scanlation team?

1) acquire raws.
2) get someone to translate raws. Usually this is a person who can translate japanese into english.
3) get someon to edit the raws. This is someone who is skilled in photoshop and can make the raws look hi-quality.
4) (optional) get someone to proofread the translated version.
5) get someon to typeset the translated text and plop them into the raws.
6) distribute the manga. Create your own website, post links in forums, distribute on IRC, distribute on bittorrent, ect.

Yes, just remember, always beware the Taicho Pomade scanlation family. They cut you up real good.

I want to start for myself with just a translator this way I can choose the pace, and more importantly the series to translate. But if you would be willing to let me choose series to provide raws for, and do any other jos in the process (other then translating) I would be more then willing too help out. Otherwise just a how to guide please. P.S. anbody will do for the aforementioned not just illuminati
