Thread: crazy position with crazy salary

it's in the news in OZ, this guy got a OZ$21.2M salary, thats right....21 million!!!, that's roughly about $210,000 per week, AFTER TAX, and if he work 60 hours week, thats about $3500 PER HOUR, and thats more than what i make in 1 month, not to mention, position like that usually involve bonus and things like that, so he ended up with more than that......what's your opinion about this? should this be allowed? athelete (rugby, in OZ) have a salary cap, why can't we use salary cap here as well? there's more people that need the money, like the janitor, and they guys downstair that actually DO the work.

What we really need to do is lower taxes...that shit is ridiculous. You work your ass off to make an assload of money, then the government swipes a huge chunk of it? Idiocy.

he's the CEO of macquarie bank, i'm not saying you can't have lots of money, but come on....$21 million?? what r u gonna do with $200,000 per week??? for me it's just a waste, better of giving it to the shareholder,or to the worker.....i never say anything about tax, i'm saying there should be a limit, like $5-8 million is high enough, what r u gonna do with the money anyway?put it in a bank? investment? cars? jets? that's a waste....give him $8 million a year, the rest can go to feed and house the poor, and if there's leftover, it can go to some third world country.

Not a bad plan. Alas, policy makers are not pressured into action by the poor or those in third world countries. This is why we have ridiculous economic policies all over the US.
