I'm flabbergasted. Honestly.

Lots of freaks like to do rituals with heads. Maybe these guys didn't want to go to the trouble of digging up a grave, and had a slight(but not enough to keep the head where it was) attack of conscience. That is my best guess.

EDIT: and I am rather enjoying seeing nearly every thread on the first page being locked, lol. At first, I was like, WTF?!?!? Then I looked at them and it all made sense. Sorry for the off topic spam.

Hanul - If they were necrophiliacs, I can't imagine why they wouldn't take the whole body. Just the head seems a little strange. (Oh, even discussing this is grossing me out. Yuck.)

I think Jakko's guess is plausible. Another possibility that comes to mind is that maybe the culprit(s) knew the woman...I don't know, maybe they really disliked her (and either had an attack of conscience about the money, like Jakko said, or had some special reason for only taking her head), or maybe it was some sort of bizarre last request on her part. Or a joke gone very, horribly wrong.

I don't even want to think about what they did with it after taking it...

Ok, all this is interesting, but I dont get why they didnt take the jewelry and the cash. I mean, theyre already dismembering a corpse, how strongly can they be moved by ethical motivations?

Maybe they're trying to make a shrunken head, and they chose a random grave.
