    Default Radiant Heat Source?

    Hi everybody,

I was wondering if you guys know any electrical appliances that really radiates heat source? this is for my class group project. The goal is to have a robot w/ temperature sensor to navigate based on temperature and find the hottest spot.
But the problem is, we aren't allowed to use real thing - fire.

Right now what we can think of is a electric portable heater, but somehow that doesn't radiate far enough, it's like 10 inches from the heater, we tried hair dryer, it is blowing really far, around 3 feet, but it is only blowing in one direction, it's not really radiating.
We need something that radiates at least 3 feet long.

    any ideas?

    Thanks.

ahh why I haven't thought of that,
good idea jakko, it might not radiate 3 feet long but definetely will try that and I might use a halogen (500Watts) for maximum heat.
    thanks.

thanks for the ideas, well we did think of those things that you guys mentioned before, yeah toaster and laptop definetely hot, too bad it doesn't radiate.

but I found a good space heater that really blows and quite hot too, it is an old space heater, yeah it doesn't have a good safety engineering.... unlike those modern space heater.
