Default Give me my blood and carnage.

Promise me the field of corpses done with my own two hands and my own machine gun. Let my primordial self dance in front of explosions from my rocket launcher. The thud of man and monster hitting the ground. The crunch of bullets impacting their target, collapsing all flesh and bone in their path. Let me hear my enemies scream and recoil and finally die. I walk the path of total annihilation and these crimson fires at my feet are nothing compared to the destructive rage in my heart and mind. All things seen in shades of red, colored by blood and by anger. All things awash in chaos. All red keys opening red doors, all blue keys opening blue doors. Flood the reactor chamber with fuel, the reservoir with water and power to the main generators. Start it up, fire the rocket and send me to the next goddamn level. Let's go! Let's go!

    Good article.

I love shoot 'em ups, although I typically play them at an arcade, where you actually get to hold the plastic gun. I surprised myself by actually being able to play them decently. And it's true: sneaking around is for losers. Hiding? Pfft. Even in fantasy RPGs, for me the "guard" option goes unused. Just hit them before they hit you, I say!

I don't even think that shooters particularly contribute to violent behaviour, like a lot of people seem to think they do. I'd say that they offer an outlet for that destructive energy, if anything. I'd much rather shoot things in a video game than go on a rampage in my bedroom or the kitchen if I'm upset about something. Shooters are oddly satisfying. I could even use them as a stress reliever.

    And they're just plain fun.

all i have to say is ... carnage is good

    Killzone FTW!!!

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

    <3 carnage

my mom used to say stuff about me killing shit in games, but eventually she stopped ragging about that and instead decided to nag only about my frequent cussing

and is it so wrong of my friends and I wanting to shoot up hostages in a counter-strike map we designed to look exactly like our high school? oh so cathartic.

I like shoot em ups but I think that it needs to be watched as to age of players some kids are just to young to not be badly influenceed by being able to plunge machetes into someones eyesocket...But for teens/adults YA!!! Fun although I do prefer more of a challenge intellectually most of the time if you just wanna take out you stress/anger on make believe creatures it's JUST FABULOUS!!!

Please... I'm having American Psycho flashbacks....

Okay, they're gone. Anyways THE most satisfying violence in a game for me would have to be in Resident Evil 4... there's nothing quite like unloading a shotgun in to a crowd of "zombies" and watching them blow backwards into a mist of blood and gore.

Nothing like Shadow Warrior...Nothing like graphicly violent pixelated goodness with some funny quotes:

"Oh, Lo Wang drop soap, you pick up..."

"You want some Wang?" <---The main character's name

    ect.

Another oldie but goodie I think was Carmageddon, a racing game where you got points for destroying other cars and running over pedestrians, especially if you did it in an interesting or artistic way.

And lastly, Redneck Rampage. What can I say, it was comedic shoot'em up gold. With the living turd pies, and the alien boob gun, and the drinking to restore health, and urinating to become less drunk, it was beautiful...

    It was alright.

I find that FPS don't cause people to go out and kill people, but to do so effectively. Teenagers going about and trying to kill parents and neighbours is not new phenomenon, and be traced to many incidents throughout human history.

What makes it noticable now is that the teen is getting training to use a deadly weapon in a relatively short period of time. To properly use a sword, or any other martial weapon, takes lots of practice to get done which is why adolescents weren't so successful at killing previously.

Or so says my two cents.
