Thread: Ikkukan Vs. Renji

Before i explain this thread, i warn those who have not yet seen Bleach Chapter 200 onwards that there will be moderate spoilers ahead. If you don't want to be spoiled, please leave this thread.




So, after seeing Ikkukan's Bankai, i was wondering: Who is stronger, Renji, or Ikkukan?

I am under the belief that Ikkukan is in fact stronger than Renji. Just because we've seen Renji's Bankai first, doesn't neccessarliy mean that he's stronger than Ikkukan. Plus, it is apparent that Renji has not entirely mastered his Bankai yet. And i think that in manga chapter, "Lucky" (i think the number is 202), Ikkukan was saying something about showing Renji and Yumichika on how to release the Bankai. I might have interpreted it wrong, but i got the impression that Renji reached Bankai level with help from Ikkukan.

What do you guys think?

He's clearly stronger. Renji just got his bankai, Ikkaru seems to have had his for a long time, and Renji clearly thinks he's more capable than him to become a captain.

Ikkaku is stronger, even his bankai requires pure brute force. as Shamgi was saying, Renji did ask Ikkaku do become one of Gotei's captains because Ikkaku was clearly stronger and can handle is bankai better. Renji just recently got his bankai and still has to learn more about it. The 6th division captain even said that Renji was too early for bankai because bankai still requires few years of training to master that level. We don't know how long Ikkaku has obtained it and still unsure why he hasn't used it on Ichigo yet. in my honest opinion Ikkaku is stronger, probaly twice i stronger.

I would say Ikkaku is stronger but not twice as strong, his shikai does seem weaker then Renji's.
Why he didn't use his bankai on Ichigo is pretty easy to see, he lost before he could. Every fight doesn't allow a person to get just hurt enough to realize he has to get serious.

I also would have to disagree that he is twice as strong as Renji, but he is stronger.

It's pretty obvious that Ikkaku is stronger. Renji asked Ikkaku to be one of the captains because he knew he could handle his Ban Kai. Ikkaku also had his longer than Renji. Ikkaku is basically Renji's Senpai, and Renji has now gotten even lower in the Gotei 13 chain of uberness.

Ikkukan? What the hell is an Ikkukan? I know the spelling was rectified a couple of posts in, but ffs, Ikkukan? Where the hell did you get that one? And yes, IKKAKU is much stronger than Renji, he haad his bankai earlier and it has been hinted that if he were to use his Bankai, he could defeat Kenpachi but he wont because he doesn;t think it''s a fair fight if his opponent doesnt have Bankai as well (fight with Ichigo, and fight against arrancar when he said he thought using his bankai was "cheesy"). Now take into account Kenpachi was fighting two captains who were both using bankai and he had them on the ropes and probably would have won, you have to think that if Ikkaku were able to beat Kenpachi whilst using bankai, he would be one of the strongest in SS.......

Ikkaku fights with pride as a member of 11th division. He just wanna fair fight, rite?

I'd say Ikkaku is more experienced, but not necessarily stronger. Just like Ichigo is considered the strongest character based on potential, I'd consider Renji to be potentially stronger than Ikkaku. He has a stronger Shikai, and is right up there with Ichigo and Zaraki in endurance. Plus, I think that if used properly, Renji's bankai would outmanuever Ikkaku's.

Good point, but I doubt the storyline would allow Ikkaku to be seen as being that much stronger than most Shinigamis in Soul Society
