I know that but ichigo had to be taught that youroichi and then he could begin his training, so i just assumed ikkaku told him that or showed him his bankai to prove something. I really read the soul society arc way too fast

No I'm Pretty sure Yumichika said that Ikkaku had a limit on. I don't know how to put up images or i'd show you. Anyone at a significant level (even if they aren't technically that seat) would have a limit. Ichigo doesn't though... I think... yeah I'm pretty sure.

This is tough one, as personally i really like Renji, but then again Ikkaku is so funny!! He is such a joker! Well..........i would like to Renji is stronger *please let me stay in my dream world*, but Ikkaku definitely has something more he's not revealed to us yet. Actually, it seems like none of the shinigamis have actually shown their full potential yet. Whenever we think they've met theit limit, they always seem to surprise us.......so...............can't really tell.

Ikkaku never had a limit. Yamamoto doesn't give limits to anyone under vice-captain ranks.

This maybe just a quibble over nothing, but since Aizen has not yet made himself into a Vizard, he is still at his maximum Shinigami limit. Which means that realistically now would be the ideal time to attack him, rather than in 6 months when you may be somewhat stronger, but he just reached an entire new level of power.

good point. Why aren't they getting to Aizen while they still fathome a chance...maybe they can't find him? I have to re read the chapters...

I say Ikkaku is stronger, and a better swordsman than Renji but Renji would beat him in a fight because his Bankai doesn't need time to max out in strength.

hmmm.... the limit lifting had a purpose right, even though they said it was for captains and vice-captains, and the purpose of it is to avoid any disturbance in the balance of the material world(our world) cause by a shingami's reiatsu by doing this it supresses their powers to nearly 20% of their original power.......

technically this means it was meant for shingami's whose reiatsu are at a level which can cause such a disturbance. as we know ikkaku is not a captain nor a vice-captain but that doesnt mean his spiritual pressure isnt high enough. if i remember well both ikkaku and yumichika are able to go against the vice-captains of the other squad so that probably means that thier reiatsu are high enough to be given a limit.

oh and about ikkaku training renji bankai.....lets see....ikkaku did or maybe didnt taught him about the basic fighting skills and just probably taught him the basics of bankai(like understanding your soul cutter more and some other stuff)

I'm pretty sure it's not that they can't find him. The only feasible reason would be that SS is still in too much turmoil to start an invasion.

It's even dumber in the anime. "the hougyokou needs a year to mature, we have all the time we need" You know you have a year? Then attack him in six months! Don't just sit on your ass and do nothing!
