Does anyone else think Zaraki Kenpachi's zanpaktou is a pirate?

No, it's not a pirate. It's more than likely some sort of demon. Or it could always be a grim reaper. Though that would be sort of odd, since he would then be a shinigami with a shinigami as a zanpakto spirit.

i don't think zaraki's sword will change when he releases his shikai. his long sword is sort of characteristic of him. i think the sword will just heal its chips and rust.

nvm, going off on a tangent, it'd b funny if it was actually a cute lil kid, like his inner child, similar 2 yachiru even. it'd b like an equilibrium thing going on u know, yin n yang. although it's sorta shown that he'll never even learn its name anyway let alone c its true form :S

Well, the chapter series where Ichigo and Zaraki fight is called "The Undead"(at least the last parts), plus there are skeleton/skull drawings in the background every now and then, so you might be close, but I don't think it's a pirate. Most likely something skeleton/demon related.

Actually, the grim reaper thing doesn't sound too far off, or at least the concept of the traditional grim reaper, with the scythe and everything, because some pictures of the grim reaper also show it with tattered clothes, so it may just fit. Just don't know how Yachiru fits in. :S
