Who decided we were calling the hollow form wichigo? Am I missing something from the most recent chapters?

As has been explained numerous times by many people, Ichigo's hollow form was born when he was dead and in that pit. The previous times his power went through the roof were merely due to his attacking out of desperation or unleashing some of his power. (like against the Menos)

they called Ichigo hollow form wichigo or Hichigo just to differentiate the two, we know they are the same person but right now one's ego conflict with the other so they just came up with a name to differentiate the two sides.

Even more evidence that Ichigo became part hollow in the pit is that the mask only appears to save him after this point.

    Cool

i believe that there is a possibility that Wichigo existed from the very begining
since rukia gave ichigo her powers...she already had in her body that hollow-making stuff afterall, didn't she?

but it's obvious that Wichigo is awakened after uraharas training

Quite interesting theory.. Maybe those are the events which strengthen the hollow within and finally "materialize" it during the shaft ..

1 thing I wanna state is .. I always got flame for talking about Kaien lolZ.. but ..
Why would Kubo introduce Kaien, and tell us about his past and relationship with Rukia .. and that's all? From all those little details (like not adding new characters just for backgrounds, Hirako picture at chapter one, the strips on the hollow mask) , I dont think Kubo would just do nothing on the character Kaien ..
No matter what others counter argue, I felt that the hollow and Kaien and Ichigo are all related somehow ..

-_____-, Rukia got the Hougyoku AFTER she transfered her shinigami powers to Ichigo.

    Okay... Hypothetical question...

    Q: What is a hollow?

A: A hollow is one way a soul manifests itself outside of the material body. Hollows represent a souls inherrent instincts and baser urges, because the soul is missing its heart. Hollows range from being quite cunning to being quite mindless and agressive.

Q: Can A living Human be a Hollow?

A: Theoretically, A hollow is a representation of a human's Metaphysical form. Most living humans in their metaphysical forms are represented by a person with a soul chain connecting them to their body, But in some rare cases a living Humans soul has been represented by other means. An example of this would be Kurosaki Ichigo who is still alive but is represented metaphysically as a Shinigami. So it maybe possible, but only under circumstances beyond our current knowledge. No such thing is documented at this time.

Q:How long has Ichigo had his hollow?

A: In chapter 218: Dark side of the Universe3 Bleachigo (what this post's author chooses to call him) Said that Since the Very Beginning Zangetsu and He had been together, and that together, both Comprise Ichigo's spiritual power. Now in the beginning the Hollow aspect of Ichigo was very minute, and most of Ichigo's power came from the raw energy that was represented in Zangetsu. Several occurances allowed a shift of the power from Zangetsu to Bleachigo. One of the major occurances was prompted by Kisuke Urahara when he used an unconventional method to awaken the Shinigami powers that had been dormant in Ichigo. This same excercise allowed Bleachigo to assume control of Ichigo's metaphysical body, and was represented by the hollow mask. Ichigo quickly banished Bleachigo by shattering the mask with the end of his zanpakuto(incidentely the same end used for purifying souls and sending them to soul Society). Up until that point Rukia's Shinigami powers had been a channel for Ichigo's powers to flow through, and when Byakuya destroyed those powers, Ichigo had to rely on his own. Aspects of Bleachigo's persona had only shown up at that point when Ichigo lost control of his rational. It is important to note, however, that part of Ichigo's rise in Riatsu and ability was due to the fact that he would reach a point where he was focused on fighting, an aspect Urahara helped Ichigo refine with training intended to focus his resolve. Then during the fight against Zaraki Bleachigo was given even more reign when Zangetsu had him help train Ichigo, it was clear at this point thought that Bleachigo was still well under Zangetsu's control. Then during the fight against Byakuya Bleachigo gained further control and even managed to take over Ichigo's metaphysical body. At this point Bleachigo controls a majority of Ichigo's power, which means that Ichigo's Shinigami powers would be noticably weaker but that his Hollow powers would be even stronger than when he fought Byakuya.

Q: what is the link between Kaien and Ichigo.

A: there is a resemblence between Ichigo and Kaien, most notably in the fact that both seem to have a natural gift with spiritual powers. At this time, no further evidence has been given about a connection, but even Kaien's family seems to notice a resemblance.

Is it really that hard to type of Hollow Ichigo? By doing so, you stay canonical with the series instead of sounding like you just made something up.

I think it's like this: Hollow Ichigo and Hollow Ichigo. Well, that's my guess on where it comes from.

I won't even begin to argue this point, because I still remember what happened the last time it was brought up, but I think there's a possibility that she had it before then. That's just my opinion, that it doesn't make sense for Urahara to have held on to it for so long and then just give it to some random shinigami. Actually, it kind of does make sense, I just think he would've tried to do it sooner than that. Plus, it's not in the gigai, it's in Rukia. I still want to know how Aizen figured it out, though.

Wow, good catch! I didn't even notice that. But they use the blade to banish hollows, don't they?

As for the connection between Ichigo and Kaien...I have no idea. I think a reincarnation would be kind of lame, though, so I'm going to hope that it's either something else or that there is no connection and they only have similar personalities for character development purposes (mostly Rukia's).

I think Ichigo's hollow came into being in the shaft, but I won't rule out the possibility of it existing beforehand. We just don't know a lot about it. I'm kind of hoping we're going to find out more about him in the next few chapters...

Yeah I don't know if there is any importance to Ichigo doing that, I just thought that is was interesting.
