Do it. One letter might not affect much but if a bunch of people send letters (with good grammar) telling VIZ similar things I'm sure they'll take notice.Originally Posted by jettneko

Viz has actually gotten much better with translating manga than it has in the past. Maybe it will listen. *shrugs* I haven't seen any more flipped manga after two series that have been published for a while.

Yea, it'll do something. Companies will always take feedbackOriginally Posted by jettneko
A good way for you to do it is to actually fill out the surveys you can find in some of the mangas, or in the magazines.
The best thing to do is to buy the stuff that's worth buying, because that'll tell them plenty. Darkhorse sells their novels for way more than Viz does, but their quality and translations are excellent. But that's the crutch, to get the good stuff, somtimes you have to pay more for it.
Still, it is a slow process, but when you look at what we get now to what we used to get 5-10 years ago, and it's an amazing improvement. In another 10 or so years, we may even be able to rival Japan in our VA talent.
What pisses me off about this instance is that the only thing I can see wrong about Viz in this instance is not having enough voice talent, but they do have some decent voices all around, and the show will go pretty much completly unedited. It's basically the near best possible situtation for the anime to arrive here, and people still complain it'll be ruined. There are a few better companies, yes, but Viz still does decent work.
I dunno, just rambling, and I haven't reread this but I'm going to post it anyways.

The problem has never been Viz and the other companies, it's that alot of the anime fans who care the most simply give up on the American dubs and never bother trying to change anything.Originally Posted by Digital_Eon

Can you blame em. american dubbing sucks. the only dubbing company i liked was Pioneer.Originally Posted by Shamgi

I can blame them, because it's not the companies who care, it's us. The companies will listen to what we have to say, and they'll certainly do within reason what we ask if it will improve their sales. So dispite what all these people on the internet who are convinced that "The Man" is doing this on purpose to ruin the anime, it's your own apathy that continues the cycle. Nevermind the fact that the actual reason subbers exist, or at least used to exist, is lost upon you guys. Remember when subbers were only around to provide anime you couldn't find in the US? When their only objective was to support the community with stuff they couldn't get elsewhere, and stop providing it when we finally got it? When subbers didn't exist for your lazy bastards to get your anime for free instead of buying it like you actually should? Hell, how many of you own the actual Bleach books?
I doubt you're going to take the blame though, it goes against your nature to accept the problems you complain about are your fault. Just sit in your veil of ignorance, thinking that it's everyone else who ruins the American anime market, not you.
