Thread: The Manga and Anime

I just finished episode 53, I've also been reading the manga. But I want to jump a head, to the point after episode 53 of the anime. Meaning I want to read the manga from that point, to catch up to where it's at currently. So which chapter should I start with? 159? Thank you for your time. Also, I was interested in discuessing the differences between the two medias.

No, don't go anywhere near 159, try more like mid 140-ish to be on the safe side. Also, the two medias split. The anime has already left the manga and will not be coming back. middle of 140-ish is a good place to start reading the manga as it diverges real soon. ^^. And the manga kicks the anime's ass a billion fold.

Back to Conversation: Well 53 is before Execution to Execution Date and before Ichigo/Byakuga match. Therefore, that will corespond to mid 140 chapter to be on the "safe" side because it is in the same place as the anime. That is all.
Regarding the anime: No offense but I think the anime has gone downhill.

I can say that it the mod soul arc wasn't bad. However, not tying it into the Bound storyline truly states that the animators are filling it in with crap and not bothering to connection the story substantially. For example) All the mod people have to be stuffed animals now. And can't return to their bodies. The reason why Ichigo is weak i think is because they are teetering on betraying the anime or abandoning it.

I think they have abandoned it because of the return of Rukia and any attempts to fix this mistake is no longer part of the manga but a part of the anime trying to cover its own ass.

Actaully the reason why the animators made Ichigo weak was that they felt people were getting too strong in the manga. So make a filler arc between the SS arc and Arrancar arc about Ichigo getting stronger and the Arrancar arc won't look too rushed in terms of power. Same goes for the rest of Soul Society.

But i have to agree with the Rukia part. The most likely way to fix it is for Rukia to go back to SS in the middle of the filler arc and then come back again. But it would be stupid.
