So let me get this straight, Renji went to sleep during a WAR. Naturally he just happens to encounter the extra cautious sternritter that "observes" him ALL NIGHT... WHAT!!! Even if it is a trap, you don't have a move to use against him that will protect you. Also what are you worried about you guys are so powerful and just wiped the floor with all of them now your timid. JESUS CHRIST the writing is HORRIBLE. Instead of killing that guy, let me just stand back here and wait... I compare it to the Germans sneaking up on a platoon of American's sleeping, instead of throwing a grenade by there feet. Let's just wait until they wake up, get there coffee, shave, then alert them we are going to fire on them.

Next we have Rukia who is afraid judging by her facial expression of the black blobs. Yet once she finds out the enemy prays on fear, well guess I am not scared anymore. WHA WHAT!!!. You don't turn fear off that quick. Also what are the chances Byakuya is going to face this sternritter again, since they took his bankai. Oh I say about 97%, if that is the case just bring him out already instead of having Rukia soften them up. Only for Byakuya to block a decisive killing blow from reaching Rukia.

I can't believe the writing was always this bad, was it??

Well to be fair (haha, i wanted to use fear for the punnage) a lot of fear stems from the unknown and at first when those things were being thrown Rukia didnt know what the outcome of being hit by them would be but since she got a substancial taste of it, felt a bit of its effects and had to listen to that quincy practically give away her secret for that attack, she figured out enough of it to not be afraid.... at least not from that particular attack anyways. Perfectly logical i find... especially considering that since Rukia had to stare down that burning executioner phoenix thing since part 1, she should have a decent grip on true fear.

Otherwise i agree with everything you've said thus far though. In keeping with the theme Byakuya has to face this quincy so in which case this fight between rukia is just a waste of time (didnt Byakuya leave the 0 squad after ichigo though? if so Ichigo should get there first) With that being said though how much stronger could she have possibliy gotten to warrant her confidence boost though? Renji, Ichigo and Byakuya i could understand getting stronger to leaps and bounds cause they were with the Zero squad, Rukia on the other hand went up to meet renji (right?) but besides training with him i dont get why she's trying to mentally big herself up to be such a powerhouse all of a sudden.

Also, that renji thing: made no sense. was he supposed to take a break so that they could regroup after every fight instead of going wild on their own, or did he need to take a break because of some *soon to be discussed* time limit or something?

So far ive had little qualms with Kube's story telling for this final arc, but this was a lapse for me this week. Hopefully more sense could be made of things.

Why does everyone keep forgetting that Rukia went up WITH everyone to get healed, am I the only who remembers her butt floating in the water and the guy comparing it to a peach?

As for the renji thing, she told him to take a break after every battle so that he would be the one attacking, instead of the one being attacked, which he basically threw out the window when he fell asleep and allowed himself to get observed like that.

I don't know how much of a power up Rukia got but she was expecting to land in the middle of the battle field so she must be able to do some damage, as for her fear I always thought that was to do with Kaien which she got rid of after espada #9. I don't think Renji is gonna lose his next fight well he shouldn't lose his next fight, he got through a whole battle without a scratch on him so I'm thinking he's gonna get a couple marks this time but one thing that did standout for me was that Nanana said "i've never observed an enemy for this long.." we already know he watched him all night so why was that pointed out in such a way.

^ The fact that he said he 'observed' Renji all night* and he called him "Red Monkey" as he left the scene implies that a part of his ability/personality is one which allows him to learn and exploit an opponents weakness or something of that nature..... dont know how much he could learn from Renji since he was bloody asleep!! but kube should come up with something somewhat creative.

Honestly, how many challenging fights could the sternritter have had. They weren't fighting that many powerful hollows because Aizen recruited all of them, they only fought really one captain so they couldn't of watched them that long. Seems like a lame attempt at foreshadowing, so you watched the hollows you fought for a minute and won with no problem. Now that you watched Renji for a whole night (creepy might I add) you have a huge leg up on him? Who could you have possibly tested this "observation" ability on, other sternritter?

^Agreed. If he had watched Renji fight the muscle guy and saw his bankai and such then it would make more sense to me, but i am intrigued to know what he could have learnt from a sleeping opponent.
