i didn't like how ichigo's father was revealed to be a shinigami. although it does explains the children's powers, why was he lying in a heap after being attacked by a trash hollow in chapter 1? KT better have a kickass explanation for that.
ururu was also kinda... "...". it was cool at first, but when i thought about it, it didn't really fit too well. KT also better have a kickass explanation for that.
i'd defend the rukia and aizen plot twists though. those made sense. especially the aizen one; that was insane. i re-read many chapters and saw how it actually fit quite well together.

you know understanding the concept of the limit placed on V.Cs and captains isnt hard to understand. S.S. puts a limit on their retsu so it isnt overflowing on to nomal humans. i/e Chad and Orihime before Ichigo got Rukia's powers. When Ichigo's retsu was going all over the place, it not only messed with his friends, but lured Hollows.
We see proof of this when Ikkaku us fighting without a limit and Keigo sees the arankaru he's fighting. It makes sense because having captains and v.captians running around without a limit would cause problems for the very people S.S. protects.
Thats my 2 cents...i'm sure i'll get flamed for them

He would've been able to see Rukia and would therefore be aware that there was in fact a decent Shinigami around to defeat the Hollows. He could also have been taken by surprise. Either way, if he didn't want to reveal his secret, it was the best thing to do.

yeah...the limit makes sense and its good, but i also get where the other ppl are coming from by saying that its confusing. rukia's sudden power surge is definately not consistent..other than that lapse every thing is good and its great to finally see the VCs not getting their asses kicked!

im sure that the mangaka has a reason for doing that. but if isshin is/was a shinigami doest that mean that hollows would have been attracted to the town, much more often. having 2 intensly powerful shinigami

Isshin can probably repress his powers. The same would then apply to Uruhara and Yoruichi as well, as they are also quite powerful.
