Can Shinigami mate? Isn't that disrupting the souls balance?

What are the chapters that explain or simply involve such themes?

Actually, I have to disagree here. If Gin never opens his eyes, how can he be hypnotized under Aizen? That could be a nice plot twist =]

I don't think they can mate. They have "Families" though.

I doubt Gin is blind. He just has his eyes like that, sees in slants.

To unclear. There's clearly Shinigami bloodlines and families, and Rukia and her sister's acceptance was met with semi anger because they were outsiders. So there must be "pureblood" Shinigami, and thus they can mate.

They have to be able to mate, how was ichigo born then?

Human + Shinigami in a human body(Considering the only place Issen could have gotten one is from Urahara, and it's going to be a perfect human body)

If you're talking about the one who was under the shower in the anime, it's Kurotsuchi Mayuri, captain of the 12th division, second manager and head of the technological department bureau. He's the one who replaced Urahara Kisuke after his exile. His vice-captain is Kurotsuchi Nemu. Seems she's some kind of biomecanic (?) creation of his.

if the arancar that lost to rukia appeared in chapt25 of the manga and looks almost like he does now (as in when he fought rukia) how does the Hogyouku (sp?) change the hollows physical form other than removing the masks partially?

We don't really know if that's the same person as D. Roy. They may just look the same, but that doesn't mean they're the same hollow.

Hougyouku gave him shinigami powers and a human-like appearance.

Q. Would Ulquirro (sp?) be considered one of the 10 destructive Arrancar? If I remembered right, he totally mouthed off to GrimJow when he returned to Aizen, and GrimJow is one of the 10 authorities.

It's Ulquiolla.

Your question is rathet obvious. If the 11-20 arankaru are under command from the 10 first, Ulquiolla would have shut up if he was given the order from Grimjaw.

He stopped Urahara's Getsuga and seems to have order over Yami, so obviously he's in the top 10. We simply don't know his position.
