Thread: Theories on Mayuri and Tousen..

Mayuri: I think Mayuri might have lost his spirit powers. Because there are the 2 points on the body that control spirit powers, the spirit link and soul sleep IIRC, and most of his torso got destroyed, including the part people seem to aim at to remove them. I'm guessing he's still alive because he'll figure out a way to regenerate them or make artificial ones and come back stronger..

Tousen: Is the Shinigami that killed the woman he knew stated to be dead? Because it would be interesting if he went with Aizen because he wanted to gain more power and kill the person who did it..

Well, if Mayuri would have lost all of his power he wouldn't be a captain aymore, would he?

Tousen's friend is stated to be dead, dead, dead. And Tousen doesn't really seem to be into the vengeance business anyway.

Sorry about the double thread. I was on my laptop last night with a crappy internet connection and it looked like it didn't post.

It seems like Mayuri would get stronger, since he has a rivalry with Uryu, but Uryu will probably be way stronger than him after his dad trains him. Plus he was kept alive, but we only saw him for a page or so after Aizen showed up saying he didn't care.

Why should Mayuri invent something which weakens him? Well it weakened him but he will fully recover.
Remember what he said to Ishida.

Wouldn't that make the person that he want to kill.... a captain?
If that was true it would be really good imo. It would be very interesting if he wanted to get revenge against.... say... (completely random)Byakuya.

As stated before, it seems quite unlikely Mayuri has now lost his powers. He would've surely found a way around it.
Tousen's (and Gin's) reason for joining Aizen are still very dark, and most likely, have a nice backstory tied with it. Vengeance seems a bit unlikely, IMO.
Maybe, just maybe, it is possible to ressurect a person from Soul Society? Maybe the key lies in the Hueco Mundo? Maybe Aizen knows how?
That would surely be interesting.

And even more, what if Aizen would offer it to Ichigo so he can ressurect his mom?

In the anime there was a small scene of Mayuri finishing a bath (it was right after the "instant messaging" by Kira). Nemu asks what about them, and Mayuri quickly replies that he wasn't interested. Mayuri is shown naked, but the only noticeable detail is the blue hair. The body is fully recovered, no harm done.
I would also add, as a sidenote, that a person with the torso blown up like he was... well, he would be unable to itch his nose, but he actually hit himself with a shikai zampaktou.

His ability to liquify won't destroy his Shinigami powers. He wouldn't use it otherwise.
