^If I remember in an earlier chapter it was said that all shinigami are given a sword when they first join the Gotei 13. It doesn't become a Zanpakuto until they learn to solidify their Reiryoku into it, meaning that this guy could have the oldest Zanpakuto spirit. I'm also thinking this is where Renji is going to get a different looking Bankai.

I actually liked that monkey-snake theme of Renji's zanpakuto, although its power was laughable and it was mainly used as a stairway or a big flexible good-for-nothing staff.

This Division 0 guys are professionals, not wasting a second. But what were they doing up in their castles all this time? They could train up one or two Soul Society captains by now (guess they did that with Urahara), at least for the war with Aizen.

I still think that the fight between Aizen and Ichigo had them at the strongest we have seen anyone so far.

I think Urahara or Yamamoto could scrub both of them. Urahara may not have the pure physical power but tactically he could easily outwit them both. Yamamoto on a pure power basis should be able to wipe the floor with both of them. Kenpachi if he was actually trained probably could do it as well if he wasnt so preoocupied with his masochistic nature of getting sliced up before he decides to fight for real. Just an opinion though.

This is standard Bleach though. When I used to watch it with friends, we would never take any fight seriously until Ichigo got his collarbones chopped. Pretty amazing how he could get better at swinging his sword after that, but anime anatomy and kinestheology go with anime physics.

Doubt that, seeing how Kubo stressed that only Ichigo was able to feel Aizen's "transcendent" Reiatsu! Now, Yamamoto with a Bankai might have been something else, but I tend to agree with Yazen!
