I keep thinking of the possibility of the quincy being backed by the Spirit King or something. Aizen's last words to Urahara and the latter's answer made it seem like something really wasn't right with the King, but that it just had to be accepted as an inconvenient truth.

Why does it need to be on par or stronger, he's not as close to Yama as Juha on top of that the rubble surrounding Yama isn't turning to ashes yet and neither has his kosode. Yama always had the cloak around him from when he went Bankai it wasn't until Juha attacked that he let it be seen, remember there not flames it's reiatsu. Yama said that it can reach 1,500,000 degrees meaning that he can probably control the amount of heat he's letting out.

The funny thing about the Spirit King is that we have know idea what he reigns over we know that it is protected by the Royal Guards on the shinigami side but what else is protecting it for all we know it could be guarded by every entity out there some of which could be Quincy's and Hollows. Key word Spirit King not Shinigami King.

I wasn't questioning the possibility of it being protected by the Quincy. Just speculating that it's motivations (if it has any, could be a more abstract being) could be anti-shinigami.

And you're probably right about blondie being able to resist it thanks to a mix of Yama exerting control, a refined blut, and his further proximity from the battle. It's just that Yama looks to be going all out for the most part and I wouldn't expect some chumpy subordinate (who we haven't seen do anything but stand around) to not be at least sweating, considering captain-class shinigami all around SS are feeling the effects of it.

Once again, just speculation because I'm bored and wondering why JB and all the Vandenreich haven't been turned into waffles by Yama yet.

If he can control the amount of heat radiated out, why did he say that he needs to finish the fight soon or else they both will burn up. Also Juha said it feels like his throat is burning, the little blonde should be experiencing some discomfort.

GOD DAMMIT BROTHERS AND SISTERS!! I agree with Flash's statement of "Aizen was walking the fail path since the very beginning". Gramps is really showing us whats the meaning of having the oldest Zanpak! Its quite sad though guys because although I read this chapter with as much awe and wonderment, as did the lot of you, my excitement was tainted by the notion of the inevitable HAX way he is to be defeated/twarted in the next hmmmmm 2 chapters or so? So far he has been demonstrated to have the, seemingly, Ultimate Offence, DEFENSE and Supporting move, with 1 yet to be revealed, but at the end of the day his upper-hand is too good to be true. Something's gotta give so we might as well calm ourselves now and brace for whatever Kube is going to through our way to deal with the old guy... surprisingly enough though I have confidence in Kube (FOR ONCE) to give us something palpable though.

Since he reminds me of Alucard from Hellsing with that Rise from the Dead Army I suspect the only way to stop him at this point would be to seal him away or something that captures or tampers with his Soul.

Because even if he can control the amount he's putting out he's still surrounded by it, as I said he was always cloaked in the reiatsu he was the one who let them see it, there could be a base temperature that he can work from and reach a maximum of 1,500,000. How do we know that Juhabach lieutenant isn't feeling the effects, Juhabach just said what he was feeling it would be a little redundant for KT to put it again, also even though Juhabach said those things he wasn't showing any discomfort.

@Krazy - I prepared myself the moment I saw the flames he brought out with his Shikai on Aizen, when someone is this powerful they need to be taken out by a hax in KT world because he cant figure out a way to get around it.

So on the whole Spirit King possibly being the bad guy thing, that would mean that the zero squad would be more like jail guards of some sort instead of body guards right? I mean if it turns out to be true

The Spirit King may very well be the reason for all this madness.

The spirit King being the bad guy would be too convenient a plot for Kubo to use to explain the true motives of the Quincies invading SS.
And to top it up, if old yama's bankai abilities consists of East, West, North and South, I figured there would be a ultimate tech which could be named "Center". If you look at Chinese Mythologies, there's always the 4 cardinal directions (east, west, north, and south), and then the most important being would be in the centre, protected by the 4 cardinal directions.

Kubo's lifespan-for-plot deal with the devil is a new one and not all details have been made public. So we do not know how long he can keep up the current level. Wanna see Yama using all aspects of his bankai to the fullest, as well as Shinigami captains giving their attackers a hard time.

On a more unrealistic note, I hope Ichigo turns into a comic relief, just blasting one Getsuga Tenshou after another and saying: "Even this does not work!" as if he knows anything else.
