Wasn't that because the guy repulsed Ichigo's reiatsu like Kenpachi did way back when? Either way, the chimera chicks should have brought Allon out earlier and Kubo clearly just didn't know what to do to prevent Ichigo from eating that guys special attack. Maybe he writes these things without any premeditation and just kinda wings it.

I still liked the chapter though. I'm enjoying the seeming angel motif that the quincies are using, mainly because they're more like monster-angels than anything.
