I was thinking the same thing Flash when that Quincy dude said "This Shadow only hides the chosen ones" and judging by the variety we've seen so far (quincy, some kind of hollow hybrid, now apparently Bankai). It just seems, right now, that they are just some motley crew of badasses from all backgrounds who were brought together based on strength rather than spiritual affiliation. The main thing that would make more sense of that though is that last page. Was that translation correct when it ended with "The Empire's King"?? If he really is the Emperor then it could be possible and his goal is to mesh everything into one/reset the entire structure of things perhaps?

For a second I thought that dude was Aizen, the one that got his arm blown off that is.

I FUCKING AGREE TEK!! After almost every major point in the plot Kube always seems to take a fricken break! Is he so shitty of a writer that he doesn't plan to far in advance and just stumbles through his story? "O shit.. I just introduced this secret society and showed their shadowy leader... the readers would be out for blood and a little bit of answers next week uh? Shit... even I don't even know why these guys have quincy, shinigami and hollow affiliation! Better take a break to think this shit through next week!!". What makes this break worse is that he didn't even mention it last week. He completely snuffed us this week guys!

And chances are when he does give us a chapter it might have NOTHING to do with the major developments and it'll just be a shit filler crappy type chapter where it focuses on Ichigo and those 2 pathetic shinigami kids or the most childish shit ever until the very last 2 pages!
