Thread: Quincys and Fullbringers

The topic here is whether Quincys are inherently just fullbringers with lineage based powers. We know that Fullbringers focus their power through objects and we see the Quincys do this as well with their bows.

What doesn't make sense though is the lineage based powers and if Ishida will be able to become stronger or advance himself.

We've seen his final Quincy form during his Mayuri fight but can we really count that? We don't know if he can do that again without the glove or losing his powers a second time.

Quincys are different from Fullbringers.

First Quincys control spirit particles to use their weapons. Fullbringers have powers.

Second, lets say they look the same, however Fullbringers need an special item that have been with them almost all their live in order to be able to use fullbring. Quincys don't have to do that.

For example: Before Ishida lost his powers the item he used to call out his bow was different from the one he has now.

So there is basically no connection between the items and the user, unlike Fullbringers.

Fullbringers use their own inner reiatsu and an objects own innate soul. Quincys do use spirit particles yeah and they don't have things they've been carrying around with all their lives. For the record, neither do fullbringers. They use something special to them and their fullbring power is something that symbolizes their intent and soul. (Riruka and Boots-girl are good examples of not carrying life-long personal possessions) Quincys can't manifest their power into anything other than a bow really.

What I'm bringing up though is the way Ishida moves at high speed for example. It's different from a shinigami yet it seems like it's related to the fullbringers.
And what I'm also bringing up is the fact that Quincys have powers because they are Quincys and if Ishida himself will be able to advance his own power through a "level up" of sorts or maybe become an actual fullbringer himself.

I get where both of you guys are coming from. Thing with the Fullbring is that they control the soul of the object there interacting with. So their "instant movement" would be using the spirit of the ground to propel them at high speeds. The Quincy use the Hirenkyaku which is a disk made up of reiatsu that they ride like a circular platform. Also the Quincy's have the ability to channel the reiatsu around them, bows just happen to be the "pride" they chose. Kubo probably used this as a natural antithesis to the Shinigami in Bleach. Only reason Ishida OD'd in Soul Society was because he went over his limit.

Quincy do have an object they focus in to; the Quincy Cross. Uryu used to carry a more christian cross looking one before he got the sanrei glove, which became his new focus, until he was given a new cross that was of more similar design to his fathers cross. That could be a Fullbring type of focus.

Even though i said that, I would call it a lineage; all quincy have the same skill set, and have abilities based in items like the Sanrei Glove and the Silver Tubes. I'd call them distant cousins to Fullbringers.
