Wow. Like a cool wave of rushing water flowing across me I feel... at eased to know Kube's thoughts. Now I still have an issue with his style of wasting space on his pages for crappy dialogue and his damn near translucent character development and role but seeing that interview brings forth a few things to light that I did not know. For 1) he dragged on the Hueco Mundo arc because since the fans wanted it he was obligated to give them what they wanted to push his product and 2) since he didn't know the future of his series and he intended for the last arc to be his last he also had to drag it out so it could have somewhat of a SS finish. This doesn't make me feel so bad because if it was really going to be his last more people would've died and we would've seen a more epic battle between Aizen and the other captains etc. He probably got word from his superiors that they were going to let bleach continue so he had to alter the way certain events would play out.... at least thats the benefit of a doubt I'd give him.

Well... my outlook on the continuation of this series has been changed... if not a little. He's going to have to step up to the plate big this time though because with all this riffraff about being canceled, not being canceled and just doing things to the plot for the sake of fan service makes Lindey Lohan seem more stable than this series.

Well I did say the ending of the last arc seemed like the final chapter of the manga, and it would have been a nice one as well, I wonder what he's gonna do now.

We were all hoping for that. I really wanted that to be the end because it just felt like thats all there was to it but I guess Shounen Jump wants to squeeze his udders for its last dregs.

That's the sign of a bad author. When he ruins the original intention for the sake of either

    A) keeping the plot dragging for money
    or
    B) keeping material in because fans "liked it" instead of doing what makes sense. Not everything should be fanservice.

Look how many mangas out there use fanservice instead of decent plot/writing. Too many, and that's why they aren't at their peak in popularity outside Japan.

Annnyywaays. I only really wanted to say that it's interesting to hear about Kubo plotting things down on paper. However since he admits that the original intention of the plot and characters has actually changed from when he first started writing, I'm wondering if he is going to be able to write better from now on or if it's going to stay the same.

What I'm referring to is his "Aizen speeches." You know, the speeches that really don't make sense and TRY to sound cool instead of actually being cool. The ones that make you scratch your head and say "has this guy been saying the same two sentences in 26 different ways??"

Edit: Since the majority of my posts are now consisting of tear drops :'( I just wanted to say that I like the series and I liked it a couple of years ago. Like most of you though I feel it's gone down the shitter. Some of you may ask why the fuck I'm still here bitching. Heh, like you I can't seem to let a story go unfinished. Shitty or not.

Even if he wanted to end it SJ would have asked for more because it's so popular, at the end of the day it's the fans that keep the manga going. No matter how good a writer they are they need to keep them happy.

On the bright side, we will get our wish by seeing more of Grimmjaw later down the line.

    Oh God!!...

And why was Bleach threatened after the SS arc? it was the best yet o.0

Anyway, I won´t put my hopes up, but I still hope () that he does a good job on the rest of the manga...

i think i know why bleach was in danger back then. it seems that kids who read SJ get bored really easily if there are no human/intelligent antagonists present.

cos kids fucking love that boring chatter-during-combat and 'battle of ideologies' crap. they love to see people shouting Uber Awesome Attack Names and pulling techniques outta their arses.
so with Hollows it was impossible to keep them interested.

For me Bleach was interesting before SS arc; some mystery element was present back then.
SS arc introduced few cool characters, but it also introduced the lame fight patterns/scenarios that Kubo's using ever since then, over and over again. I guess kids either don't notice or don't care.

a more recent example of a very same thing would be Psyren. it started with lots of mystery and some gantzesque vibe. enemies were non intelligent and atmosphere was unsettling.
    It was pretty nice.

and then Psyren started becoming all BLEACHY.
Wise felt like espada, and fights with them would feel like the damn Hueco Mundo arc.
well, not as bad but still.

so i guess it's this sort of crap that allowed psyren to live longer, while sacrificing the quality that kids didn't care about.
