Does anyone feel like this is a way to give Ichigo 'new' powers just to change his costume and explain why everyone else is suddenly hard to defeat after Aizen before he eventually gets even stronger? It seems like a really weak way to keep the 'tension' high in the battles without a miraculous power up for all the characters and enemies.
Well yeah, way to go Ichigo.Just call the devious looking guys´ agency, named "Xecution".
That´s the right thing to do. No way would talking to your father or Urahara resolve things or something...
And damn, Inoue looks like Unohana with those braids :D
........why does this seem like the bount filler arc from the anime?
humans with powers?
yeah, YYH definitely comes to mind.
That was Kube excuse back in the day. Seeing as how Aizen and the Hougyoku were so..... hax retarded its quite plausible but at the same time its made better sense for Inoue and Chad because they were so close to Ichigo so it was more believable that they would develop powers. Kube still has to answer why if they both got their powers due to the residual effects of the Houg then why are their powers so different? Why is Orihime's fairy dust gay and Chad's fricken HOLLOW based?

I agree. The fact that they are "regular humans with powers" could be a way for Ichigo to get some sort of powers back so he could be useful again. Ryuuken calling Ichigo "useless" was such a good way to describe his current state. He has no powers so he's just as pathetic to the group like his other friends were and for the first time in his life he would be the liability of the group.

As always, there are no explanations and I am left wondering why Orihime was not surprised to hear Ryuuken talking about reiatsu? Why would he come out of the closet?
And "targeting" Ishida, Orihime and Sado is ridiculous. Why not attack them at once when they are unprepared and why was Ishida attacked only after he followed the suspicious man hanging around Ichigo's house?
Ishida already explained to Ichigo and Chad on how he got his powers back when going to save Orihime in HM, that's when they found out about his dad so they must of told her how he got them back. So that doesn't really need an explanation.
Ishida was attack after going to Ichigo's house to cheack on him he didn't follow the man but the reiatsu Ichigo seemed to be giving off, and from the way Ishida was laying face down in his own blood doesn't really matter if there prepared or unprepared.
This has the typical feeling of the moronic shonen hero. Rather than bother with talking with the people he's been to hell and back with, he'll charge into the unknown danger "to protect those most precious to him," not bothering to remember his stated wish to "live a normal life."
I can't help but wish that Oda-sensei would host a symposium for the other manga authors, especially Kishi and Tite, to show them how it's done. Maybe that's a bad example. His hero is still a dumb-ass too.
What, you were expecting Ichigo to do something OTHER than be trivially manipulated? That's, like, the one thing above all else that he's good at: being one of the natural-born led.
Well Ichigo's regular stupidity notwithstanding, having Ryuuken really made the chapter pretty alright as far as I'm concerned - I mean he's fresh and he's got that deadpan/funny thing going on.
I won't even talk about power levels...I think we should accept that Ishida still sucks despite whatever powerups he may have gotten. I think we have to accept that it's a given that the enemy is powerful enough to dispatch Ishida (and let's all be surprised when many chapters later Ishida beats that same guy because, hey, he really only got slashed because he was caught off-guard). But maybe it's better in the long run that Kubo kept Chad and Inoue insanely weak as well, cos if they ever hit true captain level then this arc would probably blow out of proportion as well. As it is I like how it's shaping up with the moderate pace and the humour here and there.
Never mind Ichigo.
I was expecting Orihime to hurry up and heal Ishida so he could get out of bed, stop whining, and start talking. I mean, I can't say I'm not HAPPY that it didn't happen, but considering how she's been using her powers up until now, I find this illogical.
