Lost his powers how? He still seems to be an effective shinigami to me...

Shit, I think Kubo just hinted to us something. IF Ichigo hollow side is just to amplify his power and FGT can be obtained by mastering your zanpakutou only, then for the next arc, where the villains will be expected stronger than Aizen, we might see a few Captains final techniques and transformations as well. IF that's the case, I'm looking forward to see each Captains transformation!! and maybe, just maybe, Bleach might be able to restore its awesomeness.

When Isshin showed he was a shinigami Urahara said "how does it feel to be a shinigami after 20 years" Then before helping Ichigo to train he said Ichigo Zanpakutou might not want to teach him the FGT and now Ichigo is saying he's going to part with his shinigami powers after this attack.

Well, there is the line "月牙になることだ", which means not "to become Zangetsu" but "to become Getsuga".

Translators messed it all up.

Yes that is the path to take to redeem itself, I immediately flashback to the evil site when Kenpanchi's eyepatch came off. I would love to see what Byakuya, Urahara, and Kenpanchi's final form would be.

Isshin: "Call it out from your sword Zangetsu. The true from of the Final Getsuga Tenshou."

The final form of Getsuga Tenshou is to transform into it. So unless the captains final attack is to transform into it, I dont see that ever happening.
