Dumb ass chapter, everything after the the fusion was just filler put there to help Ichigo show up on time.

Actually slowing down Aizen by amusing him is easier than trying to fight him. And we will get to see Don Kanonji's reaction to Matsumoto.

Where's Ichida's dad? Is it too late for him to show up?

I can BARELY believe that Kanonji actually appeared. Trust Kubo to pull something like this...

But I don't really mind, because Kanonji is hilarious. I would have preferred Ryuken appearing though. Now they've got a beaten-up vice-captain and a weakling human to stall Aizen and his godly powers just so Ichigo can show up on time. Rather a stupid plan on Isshin's part, it's like he's assuming it'll take Aizen more than an hour to pillage Karakura.

Why does each and every one of Ichigo's inner-self training arcs involve fighting his sword/hollow form? It's seriously getting old. I understand fighting to get stronger but seriously it's like the answer to losing in a fight is always going into yourself and beating the crap out of your zanpakutou. First regular old Hollow Ichigo then Bankai Hollow Ichigo now This Hollow Ichigo.

Some plus points for Kanonji, but minus a whole lot more for Rangiku appearing and for Tensa Zangetsu explaining absolutely nothing about why he won't teach Ichigo the final Getsuga. So I assume the only way out is to crush him, where in his loss he'll explain it to Ichigo, followed by Ichigo magically gaining the technique. Oh yeah.

Well, I am expecting the Gin vs Aizen fight anytime soon.

Isn't it like a coincidence wherein Ichigo is now trying to surpass his despair (Tensa-Zangetsu Hichigo) just as time Naruto is also trying to surpass his own (Kyuubi) ?
