Well you did just answer it yourself lol, "break the barriers between shinigami and hollow", Aizen might display hollow like abilities without needing hollowfication, he just took a level 96 Hado and if he doesn't have any damage from that then there is a possibility that he has Hierro.

Aizen might not even have hollow powers without the hougyouku fused with himself, from what we've seen from Tousen it clearly isn't fully awake yet.

Well I'm just gonna take a big ol' stab at it and say that when Ichigo manages to get the Hyogyoku he's going to try to hurt Aizen only to have Aizen say

"What did you think that's why the old man didn't hurt me?" Then boom regenerative powers are at full blast.

So I take it Aizen wasn't strong enough before? now he is Super DEUS X MACHINA....

Making enemies like Aizen that are overpowered makes it all the dumber when they get beaten- Especially Aizen that thinks he is a god and has everyone doing his will and everything everyone does was all within the parameters of his calculations...

I think I'd accept something like the King coming down (real actual God) and showing just how pitiful Aizen was in even trying to usurp him. Sort of like how Dogma ends where Ben Afflek's character is about to go through the doors and God shows up and Afflek is awed and whatever else. At the rate things are going it might be the only ending that'll be at least a little realistic (especially since we have no information about the King or Squad Zero).

^ meh, i'd rather not have any theistic omnipotent being in this manga.

Never underestimate the potential of ass-pulls especially from Ichigo. The only person that can legally do a major ass pull in this situation and bridge the power gap is Zaraki Kenpachi getting a bankai. But it is far more likely to have Ichigo do something retarded and gain a new power-up or Yourichi/Urahara/Isshin/Ryuuken getting in on the action which in all likelyhood is what will happen.

^Even Kenpachi with Bankai couldn't bridge the power gap.
