Yama Jii seems like he's going to be the prize against Aizen because he's most likely just as powerful but let's not forget that Aizen used to show his Shikai as part of a demonstration to the shinigami recruits and Yama-jii was likely there and saw his shikai.
That's why it's all up to Ichigo.

^ O yea im not expecting him to win, but he alone should at least do some considerable damage against Aizen compared to his predecessors. All the shit Aizen said about "once my spiritual pressure is greater it will render someone's ability useless" should apply to him and Suigetsu as well when faces Gramps. I'd hate to think that Aizen's spirital energy is greater than Yama-Jii's on his own but i'll be willing to accept him over power old man if he uses hollow abilities to amp him up.

Who wants to bet that when Isshin steps in to fight (surely it has to happen), that he reveals he is actually more powerful than Ichigo? Ichigo should have inherited his huge spiritual power from his father, and his father would have much more training and experience as a Shinigami than Ichigo does.
Of course he won't have the whole Vaizard hax abilities to take advantage of, but when comparing normal Shinigami forms I get the feeling (and hope) that Isshin will be surprisingly powerful.
Of course, this may have seemed obvious to some of you, but I'd never really considered it until now. Ichigo was seemingly being built up to have limitless power as a Shinigami, but even that doesn't seem to faze Aizen, so there has to be a backup plan (Isshin), right?

^ Wow... nice observation there buddy, lol. The same way Ishida's dad is stronger compared to his son in the ways of the Quincy same would be the relationship of Ichigo and his dad in terms of shinigami powers. I think that much is a given.

Nearlly everyone is more powerful then Ichigo in his normal shinigami form, so it wouldn't be a surprise if his father was, and yes he did get his huge reiatsu from his father that was explained when Grand Fisher found out Isshin was a shinigami.

Hey, I just got back from a night of drinking at 3am in the morning. Forgive me if that sounded really stupid, lol.

To me, there was no way that such a goofy dad who hadn't used his Shinigami powers in about 150 years should be able to match that level of power, even if he was related to Ichigo. Originally I'd thought that Isshin wasn't going to be a combatant, and that his Shinigami powers were only shown as a way to fill in the back-story of how Ichigo got his powers.
With Ichigo's recent bullshit downgrades though, it's seems like KT has changed his mind about this. It's the first time I've really considered that Ichigo isn't the godly Shinigami he was made out to be, and that there would need to be somebody stronger than him to save him when he fails (and you can be sure that will happen, it won't go smoothly for Ichigo).

Er, wait what? I meant SJ as in Shonen Jump. And yeah I basically said Ichigo is lamer than Naruto, if only by a small margin. >.>

Ichigo is a super shinigami with incredible learning speed. He just keeps on killing opponents stronger than him thanks to his hollow.
His hollow has always been there so he's never really been a normal shinigami. His hollow is also the reason why he's been winning all of his boss level fights.
He did shit against Yami cause we still need a Dark Side of the Universe 4. I keep bringing this up because they are my favorite chapters in the manga. The Dark Side chapters and the Black and White chapters. Maybe even another King and Horse.
He's clever with his titles.

Not only that, Ichigo used the quick and dirty way to achieve bankai and as a result he has a laughable amount of battle experience. The King and Horse is a very fitting description for Ichigo and his hollow seeing as how the hollow pulls Ichigo along and does all the work and heavy lifting.

Not really, no. Naruto completely crashed and burned as a protagonist when he fainted thinking of his lover boy.
