Thread: Why I refuse to believe Yammy is the strongest

- His behavior with other Espada; he practically acts like a Fraccion to Ulquiorra most of the time, appearing slow witted and easily led.
- Ulquiorra, when explaining he was the fourth Espada to Ichigo, said "even if you manage to defeat me, there are still three others stronger then me" which would have been Harribel, Barragan, and Starrk, making no explanation to a Zero Espada.
- Starrk introduces himself as the Primera, which means "first." Would that make Yammy the "zeroth?" No, it wouldn't.
- When Starrk is remembering all his Espada comrades, Yammy does not appear; only numbers 2 to 9.

- Look at his size. Large sized Espada have traditionally been weaker then small sized ones, due to the fact that vastro lorde are human sized, while Gillian are giants. Look at Aaroneiro, who was a humongous size and was a Gillian, and look at the higher ranked Espada, who all remained at a human size. I separated this one from the others, as I feel it is more reaching at this point.

While some might just say that Kubo is retroactively making retcons for the story, I think this will just lead to Yammy talking a big game, and maybe when he dies, we will hear his background refer to him as the weakest Espada who likes to pose as the strongest.

it's just a number, dont buy too much into it. Ulq could have easily taken him out in his unreleased form, and so did ichigo with his bankai. If you really want to press the issue, just think of Barragan, the king of all hollows who could just turn him into nothingness if he stepped out of line.

maybe yammy has a button somewhere on his body then when hit very hard he will deflate like a big ballon

There really wasn't a need for this thread but let me clear somethings up.

1. That's because he is slow witted and easily led

2.Did you every think that the other 3 stronger then him where Barragan, Starrk and Yammy, after his second release he pretty much pushed Harribel in to 4th and him to 3rd.

Dont forget when Yammy came smashing in on Ulquiorra and Ichigo's fight, Yammy said "Looks like that shinigami brat gotten a lot stronger. Let me take care of him" Ulquiorra replied " I see. Looks like your fully recovered", It seems that he knew how strong Yammy was all along.

3.Yammy already cleared it up that the numbers are from 0-9 not 1-10, in Starrk's flashback they were in order meaning the reason you never saw Yammy was because he would have been behind Starrk.

^ dont the ranks also depend on sheer destructive power as well? A giant monster should fit that bill just as well.

I agree with you but I'm going to argue the point here.
Just because he's huge doesn't mean he can't do some real damage to powerful characters. It seems like stamina is really his biggest asset here. From Zaraki and Byakuya's speech it sounds like they gave some mortal wounds and all it's really doing is pissing him off. All the other Espada's can only take so much damage, and while that's true for Yammy as well he could probably take a lot punishment than them.

Also Yammy is only strongest when in his released form, when sealed he doesnt count as an Espada, just a regular Arrancar.

Hisagi kill Yammy too.

I just realized that in Starrk's memory, the espada that are walking in front of him are in order by number (counting down from nine), meaning that Yammy would be behind him, pointing to Yammy being stronger than him, or somehow existing after the others...

Stark never had to do much to be powerful. He never needed to release or even fight with all he's got. That's probably why he didn't view Yammy as stronger than him. A bit of pride
