ShiShiba we all know it's a manga. Believe me, we are all WELL AWARE that it's just a manga lol. The problem is that with anything else manga, novel or whatever there is consistency. Consistency is clearly something that Kubo has no knowledge of, and that my friend is wherein lies our issues.

Whether it's a manga or a cartoon for kids, consistency is king. I used to ask adults questions about kids shows last time...why's this and why's that and they'd always say "it's a cartoon". Consistency is essential for suspension of disbelief, and if we're constantly thrown inconsistent situations then we're going to start getting skeptical about everything that's happening...which makes the story less believable and therefore less enjoyable. Plot twists that are inconsistent come off as cheap and tacked-on. Plus failure to maintain consistency just comes down to bad writing and laziness.

That said, we all do expect a certain amount of inconsistency in power levels of a manga...still, that doesn't mean we can't debate and speculate about it. After all we've never had a direct stick to measure Renji and Ikkaku against, so we can't tell for sure.

Ikkaku is a 3rd seat not a VC anyway, and I know thats just cos Yachiru is the VC of Division 11 but I think people are forgetting that.

I'd still like to know which Shinigami got promoted to Cap. Way it is, its either Kira or Hisagi based on their Caps gone and they're taking the slack. Hinamori wont be a Cap, she was still a cause for concern and weakened anyway in the Arrancar arc.
