Exactly. Hitsugaya's a great example. Of course, you can't discount the fact that raw power and ability plays a great part in battles but where the difference in power isn't hopeless, experience and tactics come in. Which is why I always prefer watching battles of strategy and planning, something that shows the person either knows how to use their powers well (like Shunsui did) or that shows the person knows how to compensate for whatever weaknesses they have. Aizen, by virtue of his ability alone, doesn't need to be powerful at all to take down most of the captains. Hitsugaya, despite having the strongset ice/water zanpakutou, is disadvantaged by his less than fully developed bankai and inexperience yet makes up for it by mostly fighting smart. Ichigo has lots of raw power but not much battle tactics, other than "resolve" and "determination".
Thing is, for Bleach (and many shonen manga at that) at a certain point it's impossible to gauge the exact power levels of characters. We can only know how strong a character is relative to one another. Since there are no devices to measure power in Bleach (none I know of) we can only tell how strong they are when they fight each other. For example, from Shunsui and Stark's battle, if you read it not knowing both sides were supposed to be insanely strong, it wouldn't have looked any more impressive than say, the Ichigo-Byakuya battle. Which was impressive all the same.
Yammy seems to be done for but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Kubo pulled a twist next chapter and suddenly had Yammy pound on Ichigo (which would be the 2nd time) after revealing his "0" tattoo. Ichigo's new mask is cool though I wonder what the significance of the change of his hollow mask means. At first is was one stripe then two then more and more and now the design is completely different. As far as we've seen, no one else, like the Vaizards, have changed their mask designs, not even from 100 years before. What does that mean, is Ichigo's hollow evolving? Even when he went hollow against Ulquiorra the hollow has a very different personality to the one we normally see - the crazy, berserk one. This hollow was smart and quiet.
The only other power-up I can think of for Ichigo now (besides experience and some strategy of course) is to somehow be able to transform completely into a hollow and retain his will.
Yeah it really is simply irritateing to me. I would love to see Ichigo advance his shinigami powers atleast even by a little. A new technique from Zangetsu if possible. instead it's like Naruto coming back from his training trip. Learned virtually nothing but how to draw out Kyubi. Ichigo is no better than a regular vice captain if that without his hollow.

I thought that the hollow Ichigo is Zangetsu, Early on in the story that is how they explained it, and there was that scene where Zangetsu absorbs him after a batlle occured with in Ichigo.......
