This was an OK chapter. It's really getting into the fight now, but it's just what most of us expected - Hacchi's surprise only lasting a while, the bad guy giving the typical sermon about how his abilities are awesome (Szayel-Aporro with his 'perfection' and now Barragan with his 'aging'). Still, I must say that it's a very nice change to see a kido battle, with pillars and shields and stuff rather than just explosions and sword-swinging. Hacchi looks super intimidating with all those things he can conjure up. What I am disappointed with is the fact that he didn't do much. I'm sure he could've distracted Barragan long enough to use an offensive kido on him, rather than rely only on Soi Fon. His promise to her's funny, though. Wonder if Urahara'll consent to it.
But if Barragan goes down with this one hit...I'll be a bit disappointed. That really overpowers Soi Fon. Imagine; it means she can essentially take down all Espada's above No.2 with a single shot. She's severely disadvantaged, though, so maybe it evens out. So, OK chapter. Hope they get to Stark soon.
