I know WW cracked the ice but even before that she was shown fine just incapacitated. I'm fairly sure that if she was left alone she could've broke free earlier. We will never know though.
Also I'm surprised no one has been talking about Barragan V Hacchi. Kidou aging doesn't sound unreasonable but so far Barragan's powers seem like Aizen's hax. Also if all these Espada have a theme about them that kind of shows their power I wonder what Stark is going to be. He's loneliness....What do you think that could do? Destroy your family and make you lonely, lol?
ALLLLLSO I thought about this as soon as it happened but when Soi Fon shot Barragan I don't understand why she stopped. Didn't Hitsu mention this before, Kanshin or something? Not to relent on your opponent even if it looks like they're defeated. I would've fucking shot 3-4 missiles at him before I switched out of Bankai mode. And if she can only shoot once per Bankai then she deserves the loss of her arm.
i think she couldn't shoot that many missiles at him because of the recoil which is why she tied herself to a building and even then the recoil was so strong that it snapped the cord after one shot.
so i'm pretty sure she would have shot alot of missiles if she could but couldn't cause she would blow herself to the moon lol
Aaah. I forgot the sash snapped after only one shot. Seems like a pretty useless bankai because all bankais shown so far have some kind of special power or SOMETHING which doesn't make it a complete dud. If you have to prepare for like 5-10 min to wrap a metal sash around yourself and a building, call out your bankai and then have that sash snap so you can't do it anymore, well, it seems like a bad bankai.
Thank goodness her shikai and own speed/skill makes up for it.
They need to open a portal to Hueco Mundo and just let her fire them off into it. Problem solved.

And damn that old geezer san...
That's some nasty power he's got...
I'm thinking that this is where inoue is coming in. She can probably "reverse" him to not being old, thus negating his abilities...
You forgot Shunsui's name?
sad that I think that's sad...
i think ichigo and company better hurry up and come back to help with the fight as well.
i'm getting the impression that orihime is the only one who can counter the espada of death/decay - her skills appear most suitable for the task.
it still seems like everything is going according to aizen's plan. first, he divided the shinigami, leaving some of them in HM. now he got the rest of them in one place, leaving other areas relatively unprotected.
this is just a perfect distraction - who knows what is happening outside of the battlefield and HM?
You know, Tousen really strikes me as a hypocrite now. With the whole "there was not so much as a hint of fear in your words" nonsense, I mean. Did Tousen himself sound fearful? If anything it sounded a bit arrogant. In fact, when has Tousen EVER been fearful? The best I can think of is when he fought Zaraki - even then it was more like he was surprised at how Zaraki went on and on, rather than be genuinely afraid.
As for Barragan...well, going with the previous patterns (where a chapter ends with the opponent supposedly having the upper hand), I'm betting Hachi will almost immediately pull something special out his sleeve, and make short work of Barragan (and by short work I mean a fight stretched over like 10 chapters). Soi Fon's bankai is useless; it's not like the other captains can't do a blast that strong. I'm sure Yamamoto could outdo her easily. Yet, she's the only one with a bankai that obeys the laws of physics - it recoils. No one else has "recoil" attacks. Not Ichigo, not Yamamoto, no one. And that sucks for her.
So now it's basically backup mode where we see the same fights again but with a few additional fighters per espada - Kubo's really into the pattern of having the bad guys show off in the first round before letting someone or something come in the picture and totally beating them. Though this time I guess you could say the captains were the ones showing off their power, before Wonderweiss' magical war cry brought them back. Hah.
Not too bad a chapter, but it's still one of those 'setting-up' chapters where they're just setting the stage for the 'final techniques' and 'strongest attacks'. And I'm waiting for that. Wonder how Ukitake's doing though...Shunsui could fake being injured, but it's kinda hard to fake having been punched through by someone...but Shunsui could show a bit more worry though, rather than joke around with his former vice-captain.
Go Hachi! Wonder what he'll do next chapter.
