"He is now declaring his words to the WORLD!"
And unlike the rest of Arrancar, Barrangan and Halibel doesn't even have an opponent (maybe Yamamoto...).
As of right now, the position of 1-3 is all up in the air. I still believe Barragan to be #1, I mean his "mask" is in the shape of a crown, showing him to be the king. He even has a throne made of tears and bones.
I'm so glad Iba punched Ikkaku in the face and told him he was useless. Just like the rest of the forums here I'm pretty sure this conversation was needed. You don't join the 13 protection squads to not protect the world and put your pride above all else, it just makes sense.

^^True. Duty comes b4 pride. For a second there i though Iba and Ikkaku were about to fight!! I guess this is setting things up for peacock boi as well. Sooner or later he's going to have to come clean to ikkaku and kempachi about his true powers. They'll ptrob still accept him.
"He is now declaring his words to the WORLD!"
So long as Mr. Shiney leaves the absorbtion for a last ditch effort, and can prove that with out it he can keep his seat, yah, they won't have a problem.
Things are heating up, but I would still like to see Chad do something before the series ends.
Well in the first place Ikkaku only joined to follow Kenpachi, so it's understandable that he'd put staying as his subordinate above his work. He's even said that he wants to die under Kenpachi's command. This chapter proves he meant it, or just that he has a death wish. lol
Barragan is likely NOT #1. Before taking over he asked if anyone had a problem with it, Stark answered no. To me that would seem like Stark giving up his rightful position of command out of laziness. His faccion even says "What're you doing going along with him!? For one thing..." before the convo is shut out by Barragan talking.
IMO Kubo couldn't have made it anymore obvious and I'd be surprised if Stark isn't #1.

My order is:
Stark
Barragan
Halibel
ALL HOPE IS GONE
Fifty seconds, a hundred murders.
The bill of rights is a bill of sale.
What will you do when the war is over?
What will you do when your system fails!?
I think Stark is #2 or #3. This would explain Aizen's confidence in the top 3 Espada. If Stark can match both Ukitake and Shunsui and is not #1, than #1 may be at Yammato's level. Also this would make things more interesting. Aizen forces could have an overwhelming advantage over SS, assuming that Tousen, Gin and Aizen are stronger than top 3 Espada.
Thatīs exactly the reason i think heīs not the first Espada, Kubo is setting up the readers to think Barragan is the first Espada and then surprise them when he shows them Barragan isnīt, never judge a character by itīs first impressions in Bleach. There was alot of people saying that Noitora was the first Espada because of his comments about being the most powerful arrancar in existence. That turned out to be simple delusions of grandeur, i think the same applies in here.I mean his "mask" is in the shape of a crown, showing him to be the king. He even has a throne made of tears and bones.
His talk with Halibel (Barragan saying that Halibel is underestimating him) implies that heīs lower than her but that heīs up to the job of leading the war.
That and what Gambit said, Lilinetteīs objection on Stark accepting Barraganīs leadership when he shouldnīt....which implies that Stark is also above him.
Thereīs 2 sides for this really.I'm so glad Iba punched Ikkaku in the face and told him he was useless. Just like the rest of the forums here I'm pretty sure this conversation was needed. You don't join the 13 protection squads to not protect the world and put your pride above all else, it just makes sense.
Iba makes perfect sense with his argument but the thing is that Ikkaku never joined to Gotei 13 for defending the world, he just followed Kenpachi there to serve him and to fight everyone he can. Heīs a man that puts his principles above even the world, thereīs something to be respected in that, even if itīs against all logic and common sense.
Kenpachi does the exact same, the only difference is that heīs a fucking monster so the probability of losing is much, much lower.
Still, iīm glad this happened, i thought that Kubo did all he could with Ikkaku but it seems heīs in for more more character development.

Kenpachi isn't quite the same. He didn't have to join. Heck it could be argued that Kenpachi would have been better off staying outside the Goti 13 so that he could fight them more often. I think Kenpachi did join to make use of himself though. Behind his blood-lust I beleive he has a kind nature that made him want to help... and the fact that he can't use his shiki and banki is because he couldn't communicate with it, not because he hasn't tried to. Oh, and Kenpachi freely uses whatever strength is nessisary to win that he has access to (if he thinks that he really can't loose he puts restrictions on).
Look at Ikkaku on the other hand: he followed Kenpachi because he thought that he was strong. He hides most his strength in fear, not from pride. He doesn't think that he can advance anymore (being 3ed seat, and not able to get to V.C. status) under Kenpachi. His only goal is to be as strong/stronger then Kenpachi. He tries to emulate Kenpachi even though he is much weaker then Kenpachi.
In short Ikkaku had no chance from the begining because he was afraid that by showing his power they would want him somewhere else and he would have no choise. If it was Kenpachi (in said situation) I think he would jump at the chance, if for no other reason then to prove that he could do it. That drive is what seperates them, and thus why he lost and got scolded. A much needed scolding to Ikakku and a good chapter.
