I still think Soifon's the best despite the failure of her suzumebachi this time ^^. Honestly... she's one of the only 2 reasons I still watch the anime, which is far inferior compared to the manga in my opinion.
the movie totally lacks essence. from what i remember, zanpakutos are manifestation of a shinigami's spiritual power. to think that kubo even made a special chapter to show that hyorinmaru are meant for hitsugaya even before he become a shinigami... then there's two hyorinmaru... AAARRRGGHHH!!!
and also, i believe its clear to all of us that Ikkaku doesnt want everyone to know that he has a bankai, and then in this movie, he just shows it? this movie sucks!!!
and dont forget the timelines. the anime totally ruins it.
Anime movies never really fit in the anime series timelines.
Dragonball and Naruto suffer from this as well.

The animation in this movie was good, and Kenpachi was great, but the story was retarded. I also noticed that you coudn't see what Ikkaku's attack actually did during bankai. He throws the blade, and then it just shows Renji shooting his boner beam whatever. WTF?!?! Where did the attack go?!?
The problem with the Bleach movies in my opinion resides mainly on the fact that they show every fucking character. This reduces the time I see characters I like (Kenpachi, Ichigo and his hollow, Byakuya, and Kenpachi again).
The anime movies are designed as rip-offs (I liked Cowboy Bebop's though). All characters are there to attract all kinds of fans. This hurts the plot, but who cares? Fans will watch it at least once and that is enough.
