Urahara has a real dark side.. I didn't get a chance to read all the TBTP series but I skimmed through most of them at work (lol) so Urahara and Miyuri are capturing captains and experimenting on em?

It's mostly likely Aizen and Gin doing the experiments. You can see their feet on pg. 2, and I'm pretty sure Aizen mentioned something about conducting his own experiements before, right? Although, given Urhara's nature, you can't rule him out.

while i think it's possible that it's urahara doing the experiments, i'm more inclined to believe that it's aizen, because urahara is a scientist, so even if he were doing experiments on normal souls, he won't do it out in the open like that, he would probably kidnap them and then do it in some secret lair under the 12th div HQ or something.
