I thought that too but I do think its physically impossible for a shinigami to be an arancarr... Unless for some reason he was one special hollow who joined the Gotei 13. O_o

He does, but the guy he resembles more is the old guy that was with Byakuya when he was talking to Rukia about being adopted into the Kuchiki family.

Itll be interesting to see what he has become of him anyway. We know hes not in the vaizards for sure and hes no longer in the captains either at present. So what did hapen to him? itll be cool to see how this saga finishes up.

Yeah cuz I think Yoruichi was Secret Mobile Corps. head before she was Second Division Captain... although I have no proof other than she didn't have on captains robes when she took over the Corps when Soi Fong saw her.

I think It would be possible for a shinigami to become an arrancar steal. Think of it this way. If Ichigo lost his battle with the hollow while he was becoming a vaizard for the first time he would have turned into a hollow right? At that point whats to stop that hollow from eating hollows and becoming an adjucas or vastolorde. At that point then Aizen could use the hougouku (sp) and there you have it Espada level Arrancar formally captain class shinigami. This is actually my theory on the old man considering who says all of Uraharas vaizard experiments went successfully and further more how do Urahara know there was a possibility of Ichigo turning into a hollow?
I think this theory has merit.
