you're probably right about that. not only is it non-stop fighting, it's fighting without much emotional attachment - most of the time it's purely power-ups (ichigo vs renji, vs kenpachi, vs ikkaku, etc, etc). the main goal of the fights ? save rukia. and now save orihime. not particularly exciting.

i think one of the most meaningful fights was ichigo vs grand fisher - all the way back in the pre-SS days. and perhaps ishida vs mayuri.

yah, i was about to mention that. gantz has tons of characters, yes. but it disposes of them almost as fast as it introduces them. the characters that matter are few.

even claymore's creator knows how generic it is, lol. but honestly, you could accurately sum up most of bleach characters in three words or less.

Awesome, but if you're going for an actual description and not so much a joke, there's a few that aren't remotely accurate.

No gay jokes about Yumichika. After how and why he defeated Tousen´s vice Captain, i started to like his character a lot.

Now there´s a character with potential.

Never said he wasn't powerful, just that he can singe your eyebrows from ten foot away. Beautifully.

Yumichka is cool in that he doesn't fit the typical pretty boy mold. He hates to get dirty or look bad but he also genuinely enjoys fighting like the rest of the 11th. Funny how Yumichka and Ikkaku could easily get higher ranks in other divisions but choose to stay with the craziest captain in the gotei 13.

I think Kubo did a good job in fleshing out Yumichka in such a short fight. I'm hoping he'll get to kill an arrancar eventually.

One feature I'm disliking is how these characters are being fleshed out after their failures in the SS arc. For example, Ikkaku lost to Ichigo after supposedly having bankai already? And if Kempachi had kendo for a long time, then why didn't he even contemplate using it before double Ko-ing with Ichigo.

Ikkaku doesn´t want people in Soul Society to know he has Bankai, remember?

That´s why he has this annoying habit of "playing" with his adversaries like he did with Grimmjaw´s minion and almost died because of that.

^Whatever. He could still pull a Rukia and refused receiving a promotion in SS. The consistency there is still suspicious.
