I think that it's pretty obvious that hat n' clogs is the first vaizard and is it just me, or isn't shinji stronger than hirako? I mean I know that she bosses him around, but he just gives me a vibe that he's stronger.

Vaizards were probably around long before the current group we see today. Whoever was the first real shinigami probably knew the first vaizard.
