Bleach is known for using interesting contrasts. Black and white happens to be my favourite.

ironic isn't it. In heaven, technology is something helpful like tracking souls. HAHAHAH! Man, Wouldn't they get a kick in the balls when they realized they have been researching something that doesn't even exist.

Maybe something close to that, but not literally so.

My small small bubble of respect lasted until he found Nemu's withered body, sighed and proceeded to...well...I dont exactly know what he did, and I really don't want to know.

Hmmm, when you think of it, the conflicting beliefs of Szayel and Mayuri are a reflection of the conflict between religion and science: the former focuses on attaining spiritual and physical perfection and thus enlightenment through beliefs and faith, while the latter disregards this concept of 'perfection' and instead seeks improvements of self through experimentations on pretty much everything in the world, something considered sacriledge and heretical, and the same as worshipping the devil by the former. (which explains why scientists had a helluva crappy time hundreds if years ago when everyone thought the universe revolves around a flat earth...some mad nutters out there still think the Earth is flat)

So, well, it's pretty much obvious what Szayel and Mayuri represent in their duel, and it adds some plot depth to all the constant fighting that's going on. That was quite well-thought out, Tite Kubo!

Black and white? Nah, purple and pink made for a much more colorful contrast. XD

Not denying that black and white isn't awesome, it's just not as flamboyant.

with all this great writing, its hard to believe that Kubo does it all by himself. Kudos to Kubo!

What a change of events, some weeks ago the only thing I saw was people complaining about this battle. Let's hope that this fight is interesting.

Then you mustn't have seen much. I don't recall too many people complaining about how it went.
