BTW, there is always the reverse situation. If they six died and became hollows and removed their masks to become arancarr... i mean shit anything is possible.
Well I definitely remember them being together in Rukongai (or whatever it was called)... I'll be checking as soon as I get home to find proof (and just to prove to myself that I'm not going crazy).

When Ichigo borrowed Rukia powers, and lost it, he became normal.
Urahara said that Byakuya only destroyed Rukia's shinigami power, but failed to notice his own "shinigami powers"
But I guess, once they are dead, up in soul society, they could just train and become normal shinigamis.

Anyway, I don't think that would "power up" them.

For me, they are already at shinigami level on permanent - shikai

Orihime's hairpins and chads armor are just some form of released state.
Big vaizard comented that the hair pins were her zampakuto.

As many will fringe, Orihime and Chad might just get some "bankai"
I don't think the "braco isquierdo del diablo" is really the bankai.. I see like an ability of the shikai, just like Orihime that has 3.

Maybe when he transform completely we might call it bankai

Well, I found the page I was looking for.

Hisana and Rukia both died together in real life and were sent to Soul Society together. It then states that Hisana couldn't live in Rukongai while sustaining a child at the same time, so she deserted her there. Hisana's reason for trying to find Rukia was her guilt over deserting Rukia in Rukongai.

About Ishida's grandfather...I was under the impression that the Grandfather had only been defeated but not killed by the hollows. Then his still living body was taken to soul society for experimentation.

Even if that wasn't the case, Mayuri might've wanted to experiment on his lifeless body, using mod souls and possibly even Uryuu's grandfather's soul to see if there was anything spectacular about the body of a quincy. As a meticulous captain, he may have planned to capture the Grandfather's soul somehow after death. Hell, the giant hollows sent could've been under his command. After all, if Aizen could get away with it, why wouldn't Mayuri be able to? In fact, it would've been less suspicious for Mayuri since he's head of Research whilst Aizen was...just a captain, in terms of rank and positions.

As for their individual abilities, I think it may be possible for them to retain it after death since when they went through the spirit converter, they retained them. However, the memory loss may hinder them after death.

And Yoruichi training Tatsuki....would make Soi Fong super jealous. Unless both Soi Fong and Yoruichi train Tatsuki...

Ok. Acknowledged. But that still doesn't mean theres a memory wipe.

I also am not sure whether Souken was killed or just captured. But why would Mayuri have hollows under his control? Wouldn't that be a huge contradiction to his job as a shinigami captain? When it comes to hollows their whole purpose is to defeat them. I understand Mayuri is a bit crazy but I don't see the research value in having hollow subordinates when he can basically do anything he wants. Hell even as Quincy are the enemy of shinigami he could tell his squad to capture Souken and just be done with it.

As for the spirit converter, I was thinking the same thing.

To them becoming normal shinigami's ... I doubt it. They have FAR more spiritual power than any normal shinigami as evidenced by the massive asswhooping they delivered on shinigami up to the rank of vice-captain. Their spirit power doesnt start over once they die (or they would have been weak as shit when they left Urahara's place). Also assuming no memory wipe, When they died they could theoretically immediately join the Academy as they don't need the time in SS to develop their powers like Rukia, Kira, and Renji did. I dont know how long Academy training takes but I'd like to think they'd graduate pretty easily.

I think just like there is a limit to how strong a pure shinigami could be... I'd assume the same is true for hollows and humans. We've seen that meshing hollow and shinigami type souls together eclipses that barrier, maybe as the six of them are quite unique souls, a meshing of their inherent human skills and new shinigami powers would occur with different limits. I don't think its possible to compare the powers that Chad and Orihime exhibit with the levels of zanpakuto releases. Especially when its been explicitly stated that their powers are nothing like those of shinigami.

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.

^ especially chad's which is more hollow based. taskui hasn't developed her powers yet only that she can see hollows etc and shinigami. it'll take another crisis like ishida's hollow catnip(forgive me it was the only thing i can think of) to make her fully unleash it

Um..actually I'm not sure who actually started this memory wipe thing up, but I foolishly went along with it. That little boy/perroquet that Chad rescued remembered Chad...

On Mayuri, I don't actually think he's crazy. It's more like, he doesn't care for his others and only has his ambitions as his only care, whether they break the rules of soul society or not. And creating/using hollow subordinates, I don't think it's beyond him. For instance, when the command was given (though I am basing this part of the anime, and am unsure whether it was in the manga) for all captains, vice-captains and seated officers to apprehend Aizen, Gin and Tousen after their betrayal was revealed at the end of the soul society arc, Mayuri didn't bother to turn up stating something along the lines of 'it didn't concern him.' I'm not saying he's evil or on Aizen's side, but more like he prefers answering to nobody but himself.

The value of using hollow subordinates was because I believe there was a fragile peace between the last remaining quincys, or at least Souken, so attacking him with shinigami wouldn't be a good move, politically. But if it were hollows, then the entire situation would be more feasible that a quincy was taken down by hollows. Of course, the use of these hollows by Mayuri would have to be discreet.

As to the human powers, Orihime has been compared to that burly pink haired Vaizard and it's been implied that Chad has a hollow based power through his mexican heritage plus the latin theme for arrancars and the fact that Urahara has ruled out shinigami and quincy based bankais. But other than that, we can't compare anymore like you said SD.

Wasn't that because he was already dead and still attached to the world as a spirit? And then he went to Soul Society as a spirit; there was no change at all.

I still think that there is some sort of memory loss as evidenced by the fact that no one has an memory of their prior life.

The fact is, the boy remembered Chad. And if he remembered Chad, he should remember his mother and the man who killed her and become a hollow, killing him otherwise he'd just be really confused and they'd expand on that scene. Also, there was the boy he was staying with, who remembered dying in 1940s but hadn't aged.

What about hollows though? Orihime's brother retained his memory of Orihime after becoming one. Perhaps, this just hasn't been explained clearly or explicitly enough because it doesn't contribute greatly to the story so far.
