Thread: does ichigo care for his family?

i've been thinking this awhile and in my opinion its sad how ichigo leaves his family, doesnt tell them and then goes to hueco mundo for god knows how long and with a possibility of not comiong back alive and although his dad and karin arent worried and probaly have a rough idea where he is or what he is doing, yuzu has no idea and i think that is just cruel. it would have been better if he told them a cheesy excuse or at least put Kon into his body or something but leaving without saying a word...
imagine it: your brother/sister went out somewhere and doesnt come home and the only comfort you have is someone telling you that he is alright and even though it is SOME comfort, deep down you are still going to be worried.

^Most of the family already has a good idea of what Ichigo is doing. Only Yuzu remains in the dark about that. And keeping people blind to his actions is Ichigo's way of protecting them, like he ignored Tatsuki and Keigo at school. Of course Ichigo cares about his family pretty deeply, just that he does it in a pretty stoic manner.

I think one of the defining characteristics of Ichigo is his love and care for his family and friends, but like Urameshi-sama said, he thinks he's protecting them by keeping them in the dark, not getting them involved. Granted this way of protecting people, though it comes from good intentions, can hurt those being protected. I feel like that is one of the lessons Ichigo is fixing to learn in this part of the story. Just like he's having to learn how to trust other people to help him and fight for themselves (i.e. what Renji and Rukia yelled at him about in Hueco Mundo). I think the issue is not that he doesn't care for his family, I think it's that he may be making some precarious decisions about how to care for them. But he's young, he'll make those kinds of mistakes and learn from them.

....Didn't he become a shinigami because his family was in danger? Now he's already involved in this war and if he does nothing, his family will be sacrificed to make an Ouken. But invading Hueco Mundo was rash, ill-planned out decision, something typical of Ichigo's personality. It doesn't mean he doesn't care for his family.

are you forgetting that ichigos while ichigos away, kon gets free reign of his body? So his little sister has no reason to think "well ichigos spirits gone so that stuffed animals taken over his body..."

but like taskui ,they would realise from the spirit energy released from kon is far lower than ichigo's and would suspect.

Maxximus, that would only be if Yuzu could sence spiritual abilities and see spiritual entities. The only evidence we have of her doing this is with the spirit of a cat (and that may have only been in the anime). I don't think that she is gifted in that sence, either that or she is a shishingami for animals? Either way, she is the one in the family who takes the most after Ichigo's mom who couldn't sence spiritual power or see ghosts either.

If he didn't cared, he would be going for a beer with his friends right now and not to protect the world. But because he does, he will never become alcoholic....

what about yuzu's sister? wouldn't she sense the spirit drop?
