There's either the whole point of it being a manga and it could be just cause he likes orange hair. or it could a play on name like they do when the characters make reference to his hair, or it could be because of the recessive trait theory. I never seen Masaki's actual hair color as I don't always trust the anime with actual character colors (they had it as orange in the anime).
It could be similar to Baki from Grappler Baki. His hair was orange and then it changed to dark red in less than five years even though his parents have brown and red hair, he was born with orange hair.

The manga states that HIS MOTHER HAD ORANGE HAIR!

In that girl-that-defend-Orihime-from-evil-Lesbian's flashback, I forgot her name..

Besides the fact that Mendelian traits aren't how hair color is expressed in the genetic code. And forgetting that melanin which determines pigmentation is what gives the varying levels of Hair ad Eye color through the multiple alleles' expressions. And that neither of these deal with the fact that Ichigo is the son of a human and a shinigami. everyone above me is right YOU FAIL!! That level of genetics doesn't even come close to applying, as you would first have to explain how someone who is entirely made of spiritons is able to impregnate a living human. Just no. NO. NO! please someone lock this up and send it away.

that's not true. hair colors aren't co-dominant or incomplete dominant. itz wut adonai says. there are variety of expressions of alleles in the hair color gene.

Think about it his way. If Ichigo is adopted because his hair is different, is Yuzu adopted as well?

Please someone teach this kid about genetics, and then banish him from the gene pool.

But watching the flashbacks of Ichigo's mum made me wonder how Ichigo, who has orange hair, could possibly be the spawn of a black-headed man and a brown headed women...
Genetically, he'd have to either have his mother or his father's hair. (We did it in science last year. There's no questioning it.)
So that accounts for his two sisters... who both have black & brown hair... and somehow, his parents don't seem to be the "affair" type.
(It's also why I think Naruto is obviously the 3rd hokage's son, since he is pretty much the only other man in the village with blonde hair. XD)

So, any theories on who Ichigo's real parents might be??

Everyone Else Said It Already, Fail.DoubleFail. I just want to add one thing, i cant believe the freaking 4th hokage = narutos dad theory is spreading to the other series forums :/
