Am I the only one wondering what happened to his 11 second limit?

Evidently he has surpassed it now and we'll probably see why soon.

No, I have seen many wonder that. However, one can assume after so many battles, it was getting longer by common sense.

Reason: He was fighting Hyori with it on while using Shikai only, and the duration he could keep it on started around 3 seconds, and eventually went to 11 seconds before his second battle with grimmjow (first battle where he uses his mask in a real fight). However, it was also his first time using the mask while in Bankai, and he couldn't deal with the power from it (as he was completely trashed afterwards).

Now then, if he gained 8 seconds extension by fighting with a near-zero power release constantly, then shouldn't he gain much more time fighting from time to time in a high power-output mode? It bears to reason that it should be longer by now, especially after the fights he's had, and we still don't know the effect his near-death moments had on him (though most likely not much since we didn't see anything).

That was a longer post than I had intended.

Gamma dies and become the hollow who becomes Grimmjow. I just spoiled it for everyone but Bleach and Zombie are in the same universe.

That'd be rich. But funny, and somehow awesome if I though Kubo had the brains to pull it off.

It could just be typical shounen timing, but...

It seems we've missed the twenty-ish battles in which he used the mask, and appearantly that last eight seconds are so minuscule that they don't even matter at this point.

Nope I just think he isn't thinking in the way that he would make it happen, at least laid bare for the world. Maybe he might call Ichigo's next attack Gamma or something, but making Grimm be actually a dead Hollow Gamma, and putting Zombie Powder into the Bleach Universe, I just think that is far away from what he wants to do. He seems to be about making slight homages to his old characters.
