Default Bleach doesnt have 'the art of the sword'.

The way they say, Im gonna 'cut' you down. Power ups, which is a staple for anything nowadays but still leaves that lingering feeling for just alil bit of substance. Aizen and the hyogoku doesnt really have anything to do with the art of the sword but it contributes to the power ups and the acension of ultimate power and stuff. And Ichigo's hollow power with his Getsatsu Tenshou which, in my mind is overblown, power wise. Hence, no art of the sword or whatever. Just talking with the hand to hand, kidou, swordmanship, and that one other stuff I can remember are just talks. Back to Ichigo's hollow. If he has so much trouble with 103 or any other arrancar, then the jump in power when in hollow form then just Tenshou evrything away is kinda.....anyway. Just my 2 cents. At least Kenshin has some art form.

Hmmm... Guess you're right. But... that's why they were called soul slayers/cutters right? They're no ordinary sword (sealed) and when they are released they change shape and become powerful. So why bother having the art of the sword?

Aizen master those 4 areas, hand to hand, swordsmanship, kidou and that one other thing to an unbelievable degree,I presume, to become the master of the arrancar and HM, and to also just catch Ichi's bankai with just two fingers. That kinda makes me wonder what training did he go through and do they actually teach the art of the sword??? On a side note, there's really no justice in Soul society with the commander giving commands. Looks at the Rukia fiasco during the first arc then bluntly pronounce that Inoue is a traitor while others just blindly follows him, escpecially that Icekid, Mutsumoto's captain. Also, the commander also cant treat the ppl too with squatters all around except in the Gotei 13.

I think you've been confused by a literal translation somewhere along the line. Despite its literal meaning, "zanjutsu" in Bleach isn't "slicing arts", the school of using the sword. It's short for "zanpakuto-jutsu", the school of using the Soul Cutter. In other words, zanjutsu mastery means attaining bankai and all your special techs.

Kido is non-zanpakuto driven magic, hand-to-hand combat is martial arts, foot combat is control of the spirit body.

Ichigo, for example, is a zanjutsu/foot combat specialist, meaning he uses his sword's abilities and his speed and agility. His hollow powers are presumably a separate class of skill and not grouped into any of the traditional shinigami disciplines.

erachima, Im just saying that Bleach doesnt have the art of the sword and your translation stuff probably justify my point......and what with honor and rukia cant interupt a shini fight is just stupid along with the commader. but Im still cool with all of it. Just alil disappointed with Ichi's hollow form with his overblown tenshou and lack of the art of the sword.

I think what he's saying is that he jacks off to iaijutsu and is pissed that the lack of iaijutsu in Bleach is getting in the way of his masturbation. Otherwise, not a clue.

Kenshin isn't better in anyway. Read Vagabond instead.
