    Default Bleach rejected before publication?

Yeah, I want to know everybodies thoughts on it, if you believe this to be BS or the truth because there's no real source that say shounen jumps editor rejected Bleach when it was first proposed by Kubo tite. Only BlechEXile seems to have stated this info, so is it true ? Because I just talked to Tokyopop's Editor and he just said that was total BS and missleading, also that Kubo tite couldn't had published Zombie Powder in high school either. Anyway here,

I'm sorry...that sounds like complete BS, if you know how Shonen Jump works. And it has blatantly wrong information like that Zombie Powder was published when he was in high school. (21-22 years old is kinda old for a high school student, don't you think?) Reliable sources, people.

Okay, looks like this spurious story was added by an anonymous poster to Wikipedia late in 2005. Incredible what people make up! Let's stick to the verifiable information that's in the Japanese wikipedia article.

Yeah, so Bleach exile should take that info down right ? if its missleading.

oh yeah, that guy is an ass, he banned me. LOL

Um I'm pretty sure it's true. It's not just Bleach exile, but Bleachportal too (I think anyway). Zombie powder was made way before Bleach ever did.

This is probably true, I saw it somewhere around the net. From where I read this article from it was rejected because of its resemblance with
YuYu Hakusho. This is why Bleach was delayed a bit but its ol good now.

Well, it's not like we're going to find a Kubo shrine. Even if we do, it's going to be in Japanese, and we don't have that well of translators. Even so, the best thing would be to google him, or Yahoo search him.

They all say the same thing.

Thats very reliable sources, but to an extent though, its not officialy stated. But the bleachportal source had one that was written quite differently. Said that Bleach was presented to a group of independent readers? after it was rejected..
prob to see if they'd see any plagiarism was if and involve, btw thx DivineTVDragon for those

on that note, I'm not going take any consideration on thought with that editor, He turned into a real ass after I backed him into a few corners, I'll just let his ass think w.e he wants.
    I still got my dignity

Hmmm...I remember that it was previously turned down because the editors thought it looked like Yu Yu Hakusho too much, but Akira Toriyama (mangaka of DB/DBZ) encouraged him to keep trying and voila - we got Bleach. BTW, I read the pilot chapter, and it sucked soooo bad that I'd probably reject it too, even knowing how it would turn out in the end.
Oh, and Zombie Powder - it was his first manga, and it was kinda cool, it sucks that it was canceled...

Yeah, Zombie Powder was good. Perhaps it was too violent or too dark for a shounen manga? I mean we see a lot of blood in Bleach but not many deaths. Same goes for Naruto and One Piece. ZP had the main character decapitating the small fry bad guys.

right, this is because shonen jump's readers in japan back then were mainly young adults and children, and publishing bleach along with yu-yu would confuse the children.
