    Default Aizen's motives

I wonder what Aizen's motives are for his actions. If we look at Tousen's past and that he has a strong belief in Justice I can only conclude one of two things either

    a) Aizen tricked Tousen

    or

    b) That Aizen has good motives for his evil acts

I think that it is b because MOST evil people still usually have good reasons for thier actions and they do say that "The road to hell is paved with good intentions, that being said what the h**l could Aizen's motives be?!?!

Aizen's motive is the same as Lucifer's: Power, pride, to rise above the most high. Tousen has joined him because a side effect of this is the uniting of the hollows and shinigami under one government, at least hypothetically saving a lot of bloodshed in the long run. Gin's in it for reasons unknown, as his only motive that's ever been revealed is the preservation of his life, which this seems to have nothing to do with.

As for the hell/h**l thing, in the first usage, he was referring to the place, so it wasn't being used as a curse. Rather prudish when not in front of your grandmother, but reasonable enough if you don't like swearing.

Tousen is just a deluded fool who should just perform hara kiri in my opinion . But yeah back to seriousness tousen is just looking to the longer term and gin well we'll figure that one out sooner or later. No matter what though gin's ultimate decision will be based on matsumoto's action.

You have no evidence to support that idea. Though he probably wouldn't be willing to kill her, we have no evidence of him actually being in love with her or otherwise dedicated enough to change sides over her.

At the least we know Gin cares for Matsumoto and won't harm her. About Tousen, we know nobody tricked him, he willingly joined Aizen's side and remember he is the only one that Aizen can't affect with his Hypnotism.

I... dunno... Gin is Aizen's second in command. He knew where the Espada were off to, and he probably knows who the shinigami on earth are. Maybe Gin won't harm Matsumoto himself, but he's not protecting her either. If Urahara hadn't come just then, Matsumoto might be dead. WOuld that have changed Gin's mind? I say no.

Lying will only get you so far. Tousen isn't stupid. So either he believes in Aizen 100% (he does) or eventually he gets disillusioned and realizes what is going on. For Tousen to be obeying him all this time, killing the 46 chambers, trying to kill Rukia etc. etc. he has to know what he is doing. He just believes in it enough to do whatever it takes. It's almost like Tousen is lying to himself and believing it.
