Correct me if I'm wrong, but Ichigo didn't need the Huo Gyoku to become a Vaizard. There is only one right? And Aizen has that one. If this is true, then a shimigami does not need the Hou Gyoku to become a Vaizard. Its possible that only Arrancar need the Hou Gyoku to transform, its also possible that the first Vaizard was created through the Hou Gyoku and then simply showed the others how to become Vaizards as in the case of Ichigo. It seems that the Vaizard transformation is acheived through willpower, by crushing the Hollow in one's inner world again as with Ichigo.(This seems a continuity blunder on the part of the author.Check Aizen's speech on his attempts to create hybrids at the end of the Execution story arc right before he removes it from Rukia.)

You don't need the hougyoku to become a vaizard, or an arrancar. However, it's use seems to allow for the forced creation and improvement of existing hybrids. How the vaizard came to exist is unknown, but perhaps they are similar to Ichigo, last second rescues from hollow-dom.

But Ichigo was born with shinigami powers and that's only a characteristic for nobles. That's where Kubo contradicts himself because If only nobles are able to give birth to pure blood shinigamis, then how come regular spirits with high reiatsu could become shinigamis, where they born with it or is it something that comes after you die???

Shinigami reproduction is just a big vaguity in general. However, as best I can tell, it's like this:

Remember, normal souls do not need to eat, breathe, etc. (stated in the manga) They may not even age but simply reincarnate after their 300 years or whatever the appropriate buddhist number is. Souls with spiritual power do need to eat, however, which would imply that they have an actual metabolism and a life-cycle. They have to eat, they age, albeit slowly, they can also reproduce. Spiritual power is somewhat hereditary, so the child of a shinigami is likely to be similarly endowed to some degree or another.

The noble families are simply shinigami lines who have (presumably through inbreeding) developed exceptionally strong hereditary spiritual traits.

Also, Ichigo's spiritual awareness as a human came from his mother and father together, Ichigo's shinigami potential is from his father. He was not born with shinigami powers, as those awaken only after you die. He was born with spiritual awareness, able to see ghosts.

*applauds* woot someone understands the total process. Also quam i suggest you reread bleach as i have done to many other people. You've misread part of the probably major plot. Through what you've implied you've said that shinigami just need to beat down their inner hollow. They have none, ichigo is just special in that through his father he had the ability to become a shinigami but since he wasn't dead (read on erachima post), urahara used his special cane to seperate his soul and proceeded to cut the chain of fate and he fused with the hollow and gained the powers of the shinigami at the same instant.

The willpower isn't needed to become a vaizard/hybrid. The willpower ichigo demonstrated was one of control, in order to control the inner hollow and to prevent him from losing total control over his body. If you've played Soul calibur think of it as Nightmare vs Siegfried. It's practically the exact same fight.

Also while yes it is possible to make shinigami into shinigami-hollow hybrids and hollows into hollow-shinigami hybrids (they're different) they are imperfect and highly flawed but they are better than the originals and are bestowed with special abilities.

A collection of kickass banners, not all of them mine but deserved to be spread.

Victory needs no explanation. Defeat allows none.
