Thread: When you're bored, you read too much into things

I was reading backwards through bleach, drawing character portraits to absorb Kubo's powers, when I came across one line that made me wonder if something had been overlooked by members of the crazed fan base with generally bad hygene.

There is a particular scene in chapter 221 where Orihime mentions that Tatsuki has reported having felt ill and has not been seen at school. When my eyes, irritated and red from gazing at the computer screen, first fell upon this discovery, alarms and whistles blared in my head as the great gears of my fan fiction mental apparatus began to groan to life.

I decided I would go onto to the forums and make something of probably nothing just so that if my predictions actually materialized then I would be celebrated as a symbol of fertility and honorary member of the roman pantheon; then there would be at least two people who do that.

It stuck in my head that whatever the real reason for Tatsuki's absence you could bet the entire contents of a pedophiles pocket that it was related to her new found "bitchass powers" TM that everyone thought were essentially guaranteed, givin that she's totally smokin hot (my opinion only?).

I imagine a scenario in which her powers were stimulated to release either when she was kicking somebody in the face at her dojo or kicking somebody in the nuts who gave short change and as a result they bled organs or suffered comically unleathal passage through layers of concrete wall.

Feeling generally put off by the whole affair Tatsuki must have taken a personal day to wallow in the unrealistically painfull isolation of being the only one you know with "bitchass powers" TM.

So there it is. If we see Tatsuki out and about spewing lazer vomit or shooting daggers from her eyes that explode into more daggers like the banana bomb in worms armagedon, don't say I didn't tell you so.

Glad someone else noticed it too thought i was going crazy there myself.
Wonder if She becomes like Sado, with like combat based human powers or mabye shes a Shinigami and finally unlocked her potential?

Interesting thought, If she did awaken SHinigami powers what would it mean if Aizen found her? crazy thought, eh

Tatsuki wouldn't have 'Shinigami powers'... the powers that Inoue and Sado possess are different than that of a Shinigami. Reiatsu is different than being a shinigami and the way in which the powers are manifested is another matter altogether.

But I digress, it is probably the most logical direction that Tatsuki has begun to come into her powers... though I would hope something more dire than a fight at the dojo would bring her powers out. Guess we will just have to wait and see. ^_^

What are the chances that Yourichi will come to teach her a thing or two considering that they both specialise in unarmed combat.

I think everyone realised it was a possibility. It was already shown that she's gaining the ability to sense reiatsu, and she's also at the point where she could see hollows (I think. At least that's what I remember from the scene where Ulquiolla and his sidekick first showed up, and started draining peoples' reiatsu). I don't think that she has control of her powers at the moment, but I do believe that she has some lying dormant within herself. I figured that her absence from school was probably half shock from the scene she witnessed, and half the realisation that she's beginning to develop these powers.

This makes me wonder about Keigo though. That wacky bastard can see hollows too, I wonder if he'll ever develop any further, and how will it turn out if he does? He's not serious enough to get super powers.

First things first for everyone its CHAPTER 222 not 221. And if you only noticed that tatsuki had special powers than no offence but you've been a bit slow and missed many clues and i thought everyone already knew about it. Ever since tatsuki was attacked by Inoue's brother she has developed the ability to see spirits and shinigami and like sado/inoue has gained abilities due to ichigo's presence i.e that her power was born because of ichigo - this is explained by the leader of the "fairies" which is inoue's power in the fight against the hollow in the school.

Some CLUES cough cough was when ichigo was on the way to fight a hollow before ichigo knew about ishida, when she saved inoue when ishida used the hollow attractor and when she watched ichogo battle Grimmjaw. Jeez theres even around 2 pages when you saw tatsuki ask her self if shes going crazy seeing all these spirits and why do you think shes suspicious of ichigo and his shinigami friends when they bombarded themselves in the school. I doubt she has any powers like the dude who likes to party - same guy who let ikkaku/yumichika stay in his house - but if she has some sort of unique power like sado and inoue it will probably be hakuda/hahou (Hand to hand/Footwork) based.

Well I don't consider the ability to see spirits to be on par with "bitchass powers". I had already noticed that she had ghost vision, but now that you mention it, I totally forgot about Tatsuki having seen the fight with Grimjaw, which now that I think about it, is probably a better reason to be at home even if you don't have secret powers.

(I still say dagger bombs for the win.)

maybe she should consider to be a shaman!! lol...

I think it would be best to leave one serious character with no powers.

Agreed, there's really no need for her to have "Uber power." At this late of a point in the manga, the only way for her to matter in fights is if she gains Vice-Captain or worst, captain level powers.

She staying at home could just be an excuse to spy on Ichigo and friends. That way she would learn the truth, because right now no one has explained the situation to her as of yet.
