I hear Acquisition is a Bittorent client for the MAC. Is this true, and does this mean it works like a normal Bittorent client?

No. Acquisition is a Gnutella client for Mac OS X. It's pretty good, but it's shareware, so unless you pay up, it will bug you every hour or so. I use Poisoned which is a combo Gnutella, FastTrack, Ares, OpenFT client and is a freeware. It does have a problem with Gnutella plug-in at the moment, though.Originally Posted by shade_slayer
If you are interested in a BT client for Mac OS X, try Azureus.
Actually it's already installed in my MAC. I thing it was there by default. Thanks for the reply. Is a Gnutella good for downloading manga?
IMHO, no. Honestly, I find Acquisition a bit annoying because you can't always start a download right away and sometimes it can be real slow besides not always find the manga you want.Originally Posted by shade_slayer
ED2K and BitTorrent are the way to go if you choose P2P. My personal preference is
HTTP by a long shot, then IRC followed by BT and finally ED2K. BT is convenient only if the scanlators provide the torrents or if the scanlation is complete and you get to download everything in one torrent. Mainly it's good for anime.
Wow, thanks for the input
I just saw this:
So did you mean Acquisition is not a BitTorrent client but supports its files?
Ah, my info is outdated. Sorry about that.Originally Posted by shade_slayer
When I used Acquisition, it was only for Gnutella network. Looking at their release note, it seems BitTorrent is indeed supported since release 123.3. So, I take back what I said. Still, I prefer Azureus to this for BT.
OK, I appreciate all the help.
